Blyth Lodge B&B

The breakfast was really generous and delicious. We felt very indulged!

Nice friendly Host. Bright room with massive comfy bed and a lovely view onto the garden, birds and rabbits. The B&B is in a quiet location and away from the (small) road and so very quiet at night. Access to a huge bright separate but private bathroom with a nice huge walk in double shower. Nice (non-cooked) breakfast choices. Access to shared kitchen area with fridge, microwave, crockery and washing up facilities if needed.

These 2 first points are more down to other guests and not down to the property / Host: - Sadly loud conversations from other guest bedrooms on both nights of my stay and slamming of the front door on the first night, until 11pm, did break the silence of the otherwise peaceful location until all guest retired. Then it was lovely and quiet. - Not all guests, with vans and big cars, were conscious of leaving room for 3 guest cars in the parking area - Luckily, there was a little grassy spot to put myself when I returned from the shops and found the last spot left a tight squeeze for my little 206. Good but Basic facilities. Bare walls in the room, some wall art would make it more homely? Also roller blind instead of curtains, lacks warmth (personal taste), it also lets sunlight in on the edges. Could have done with an additional pillow also personal choice even as a single guest, I like 3. Although the bathroom was big and bright with a huge shower, the fact that it was separate from the room on the other side of the corridor was weird, especially as it is next door to another guest room, luckily I had brought a dressing gown for excursions to the loo etc.... Lovely big walk-in shower, but personal preference is for a bath. Eating breakfast in the room isn't a huge problem though facilities for it in the room I stayed in, do not really lend themself to a comfy experience. You can have breakfast on the bed but it's not something I wanted to risk, in case or spills or crumbs... Table and chairs outside the bedroom window, which might be nice after a dry night, but it had been raining heavily the first night and everything was sodden. Taking breakfast outside to this table also involved carrying loaded tray a fair way around the back of the house and past other guest rooms windows, so I chose against. Shame as the garden is very lovely.

Welcoming host. Room set in beautiful surroundings , with private bathroom which was great for a family. Good location for Lattitude festival.

Chris was a wonderful host, property was in great location, very comfortable and super clean. Pepper (dog) felt very welcome!

The rooms were fresh and sparkling clean and I slept like a log in the very comfortable bed. Very rural and peaceful location.

No phone/Wi-Fi signal.

The location was perfect and the breakfast hit the spot for us Chris was well informed and extremely helpful and friendly.
