La Fortuna Lodges

Location very central for our trip. Nice surroundings. Jackie the lady who looked after us was lovely. She spoke to us everyday. Very kind and happy to stop for a catch up.

The lady that met us was really friendly, helpful and chatted to us about places to go and things to do. The lodge was spacious and had everything we needed. We were able to access different places to visit from the lodge. My two boys loved waking up and saying good morning to the cows in the field!

We were happy with everything.

Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We were met by Jackie who was particularly helpful as she offered the use of a high chair which had not been pre-arranged. Ideal accommodation for mum, dad, grandparents, a 5 year old and a baby. Plenty of space inside and out.. We liked the location and how peaceful it was but still convenient to get into Stirling and to the Safari Park. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very sad to be writing this as we had a great time here but when the owners are just out to make money I feel like people should know what they are really like. Upon arriving here we noticed there was no hot water or heating in our lodge the lovely lady Gilly tried her best to fix this but was unable too. We decided to leave it until the morning to get plumbers out who then told us that the boiler needed a part and we would need to keep the heating on constant to avoid the hot water kicking back off again. Luckily a smaller lodge was available which we accepted as having a toddler and a baby plus 9 other people we needed showers and hot water etc. This lodge was smaller as had one less bedroom and bathroom we were a large family having a mini break together hence the need for a large lodge. As I paid extra to upgrade to the larger lodge and unfortunately had to downsize to the smaller lodge I asked if we could be refunded the difference that I had paid extra for. I was told I would need to take this up with booking.com which I have. I have since been informed by booking.com that la fortuna lodges have refused to give me any money as they had the hot water fixed within hours this is a total lie as they did not know this until the morning that we left when the plumber/heating engineer came out to fix it. Absolutely disgusted by this level of customer service and it has totally changed my opinion of this place. When you pay for something you expect that especially when you pay extra to upgrade. I dread to think what would have happened if the other lodge hadn’t been available. Definitely would not recommend!! I will say though that your site assistant gilly is fantastic sad the same can’t be said for the owners!

We had an amazing bitume. The house bigger than it looks on the listing. Really had fun
