GrandStay Hotel & Suites - Waunakee

Booked a king room. Got there and walked into a room with 2 twin beds that smelled cery drrongly if cigar smoke. My husband is a tall guy, so that bed situation just wasnt going to work. Went back out to the desk and they offerred us a "king suite" for no aditional charge. Catch was it was on the 2nd floor and theres no elevator. We didnt pack light because we specifically booked a 1st floor room. So that was extremely inconvienient. No microwave or extra sleeping space in "suite". There were remotes in the drawer that didnt go to anything? Pool was really cold and disapointed there was no hottub. Bed was very firm. Only stayed because it is the only hotel in town. Will probably not book here again. Its definitely not like any Grandstay weve stayed at before.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a variety of times, atleast once weekly due to work and its proximity. While I’ve had decent stays there’s always something I need to address. The first time was a chirping smoke alarm that’s fix was to remove the battery not replace. No toiletries. Clumps of hair all over the shower surround, dirty toilet and mirror, bathroom was not cleaned. No toilet paper. Very loud paper thin ceilings and walls. I wish I had a better experience as the options are limited at best.

This was a great place to stay. The desk staff were so friendly and helpful. It was just in the middle of nowhere was the only real negative.

There was neither a closet nor luggage tracks so we had to put our suitcases on the floor. It was alternately too cold or too hot. TV only had cable.

Great hotel with very nice pool. Convenient to East or West side of Madison.

Could use more breakfast options but what they had was sufficient. Other than that I'll definitely be back. Very quiet, clean, nice pool that's warmer than most, I liked that the housekeepers respected my do not disturb sign and didn't bother us unless we asked. I read reviews prior to staying and I'm glad I chose to check it out for myself. The only negative review I agree with, would be the breakfast needs some work (not much variety). Also would be nice to have an iron to go with the ironing board, and a microwave to heat up refrigerated things in our room (they do have a public microwave in the breakfast area that can be used after hours.) New management is doing a great job and the upgrades/renovations at this hotel are great.

Very Noisy Everything is well used Cigarette burns on sink tub, that is how old it is. No real food, soda machines don't work. NEVER AGAIN.

Needs major updates and rooms were not clean
