The Torfin

Rooms were great. Staff were great. Pub/restaurant downstairs was great. Food was tasty. Only issue is that the room was quite warm. It was a battle between a hot room (can’t sleep) and road noise with the window open (can’t sleep).

The room was fantastic for what we paid. It's small, but it was big enough for all our needs for a quick stay. The bed was so comfortable, and the hotel was incredibly accommodating when we needed to check in early and leave our luggage to attend a wedding.

Camera seppur ben arredata, molto sporca, il wc non era stato pulito per cui presentava ancora residui organici degli ospiti precedenti, stesso discorso per il lavandino. Lenzuola macchiate e copriletto che,con alta probabilità, aveva già riscaldato la notte degli ospiti precedenti. camera poco insonorizzata. Odore forte di muffa nel corridoio comune. Non torneremo.

Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und edel eingerichtet. Die Dusche ist einfach traumhaft! Das Restaurant im Untergeschoss bietet eine gute Auswahl an sehr leckeren Speisen. Flughafen (ca. 10 min.) und Innenstadt (ca. 30 min.) sind perfekt mit Bussen erreichbar. Die Bushaltestellen liegen in direkter Nähe des Hotels.

Leider liegt das Haus direkt an einer sehr befahrenen Durchgangsstraße. Obwohl der Straßenlärm durch die zwei hintereinander liegenden Glasscheiben etwas gedämpft werden kann, ist er doch noch deutlich zu hören. In den Zimmern zur Straße hin ist es deshalb leider nicht möglich, bei offenem Fenster zu schlafen. Evtl. könnte eine neue Fensterverglasung und die Einrichtung einer Klimaanlage Abhilfe schaffen. Bei dem klassischen schottischen Wetter rentiert sich jedoch diese Anschaffung vermutlich nicht. Schade ist, daß das Haus kein Frühstück anbietet. In der Umgebung gibt es jedoch genug Frühstücks-Möglichkeiten.

The staff is amazing and helpful. The location is outstanding, near transportation, with great walkability. There is also amazing food and drink options. Highly recommended for anything from a coffee, a meal, or an overnight stay - or all of the above!

Do not go to this place! My mum was unknowingly served alcohol after ordering a non-alcoholic mojito as she was driving! The owner did not care at all!! Imagine she never noticed the bill at the end or if she was a pregnant person! Do not trust this place!
