Quinta dos Peixes Falantes

The grounds are gorgeous. The gardens have all kinds of plants and flowers, from Birds of Paradise to Zinnias. There are also grapes, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. The pool area was even nicer than the pictures and the chapel is beautifully restored. We also like the separate units. We had a large private patio and it was lovely in the mornings and at night. The kitchen had everything we needed, a toaster, dishes, etc. The staff were great and thoughtful, from a basket of local goodies upon arrival to putting our wet beach and surf stuff on a rack outside to a lovely gift at departure. Vitor was great with recommendations and extremely communicative and helpful prior to our arrival. It was very safe, clean, and peaceful.

The only negative is that there is a large veterinary clinic very close by with boarding, so at times there was a lot of barking, and moos from the nearby cows joining in. We could not hear it in the apartment but it was at times loud outside. Also, be aware that you really need to drive everywhere. You cannot walk to anything. We knew this and chose the location for proximity to the beach. It is also a little pricey for what you get and there are hotels with more amenities, but it was perfect for us because we were traveling with our teenage daughter.

Fantastisch verblijf, rustig gelegen, prachtig zwembad, ruime en comfortabele accomodatie met aangename bedden en airco. Ontbijt was ook zeer uitgebreid en vers klaargemaakt, verse broden (zoet en zout, verse pannenkoeken, omelet, havermoutpap, ...)

Comfortabele ligzetel ontbrak aan de woning, dat zou het compleet gemaakt hebben

Wat een leuke kleinschalige quinta. Er zijn slechts 4 verblijven. Het wordt met veel zorg onderhouden, de tuin, het zwembad, alles klopt. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk. Omdat het zo rustig is, hadden we het zwembad meestal voor onszelf. Het zwembad is niet verwarmd, maar toch was het water opvallend warm (augustus). Wij verbleven in 1 van de 2 ‘houses’. Ruim genoeg voor 2 personen. Zowel in de woonkamer/keuken als in de slaapkamer is er een airco. We hadden een grote privé-tuin. De communicatie met de beheerder was uitstekend. De locatie, redelijk midden op het eiland, is ideaal. Een auto is wel nodig voor restaurants, boodschappen en natuurlijk voor de leuke hikes die je op Sao Miguel kunt doen.

Wunderschönes Grundstück mit tollem Garten, sehr schönes Apartment mit eigener Terrasse. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, sehr freundlicher Kontakt. Empfangen wird man mit einem kleinen Präsentkorb - super lieb. Frühstück muss extra gebucht werden und kostet 20 Euro pro Person - ist dafür unglaublich liebevoll angerichtet, alles und noch mehr was man braucht und man frühstückt in der wunderschönen Kapelle.

Wir waren im Grunde komplett zufrieden. Man benötigt nur für fast alles ein Auto & die Küche war leider ohne jegliches Öl bzw. Gewürze ausgestattet. Das sind aber Kleinigkeiten :)
