DoubleTree by Hilton Buffalo-Amherst

Wow, where do I start? There are plenty of old and worn Hilton (and Marriott) begging for a remodel but this property was so bad I am just baffled Hilton allows their name on it. So the second you walk in the front door you realize you made a mistake booking, so old and out of date, was due for a remodel 10-20 years ago. And then the room was absolutely disgusting. Not only was everything old and completely worn the cleaning of these rooms must be non-existent, see pictures. Don't stay here.

The staff seemed to dislike their jobs, the room was dirty and my towels smelled like urine. The shower door started coming apart.

We stayed in this hotel while traveling along I-90 to visit family. As others have eluded to in their reviews, we found this hotel to be beyond disgustingly dirty, run down, and well under par for the DoubleTree and Hilton brand. While simply walking around the room in our socks, they were stained and sticky. The furniture in the room was also dirty and in need of a refresh. The hotel is clearly dated and needs some attention. We usually trust this brand, so we didn't see the reviews of this property prior to booking, otherwise we would have chosen a different hotel. There are ample options in the area and we'd recommend you search elsewhere.

Staff very nice - Restaurant very unimpressive. One chef took 45 minutes for a chicken Caesar salad wrap.

Reasonable priced & updated rooms; however property cleanliness could use improvement. The pool was cloudy & side entrance had very foul odor
