Shawnee is not a melody in my head... What a horrific place that puts shame to the Hampton name. If you are into vintage things look no further than Shawnee Hampton Inn. Walking into the lobby is a time machine that takes you to 1985 in the worst way. An old slow needs to be put out of its misery elevator takes you to a dark sad hallway to a 1997 beauty of a room. Picture walking into an old unfinished basement with 80% humidity when someone didn't take the trash out. That's the smell that greets you in the room. Add the decades of dust, a lack of cleaning and you have one petri dish of allergens. I was so tired from driving and the air quality of that place kept me up all night. Between burning eyes, runny nose and a sore throat I'd say this dump is everything but relaxing. I haven't even mentioned the gross carpet, the unswept tile, brick of a mattress and furniture/bathroom fixtures a Motel 6 is craving to dumpster dive for. I absolutely would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, sleeping behind the dumpster would be a better idea. The area itself is not the greatest and road noise is very loud. All this for $115 dollars a night... L O L
