Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey North

Staff was very friendly. The hotel needs an upgrade very badly. The “continental breakfast” was absolutely not acceptable. The only thing they had available was bagels and coffee. Very lacking in amenities. Also wasn’t a fan of the 100.00 deposit required at check in. For the quality of their rooms that shouldn’t be necessary.

Our room wasn't anything surprising. There was a section of the ceiling where the drywall appeared to have been wet from a roof leak, but the drywall in the room has not yet been repaired. Outside there's a broken down mower and a shed that looks weeks away from collapse. When we checked in we were greeted with a smile and the same smile told us goodbye the next morning. The Continental breakfast was yogurt and bagels. For what we paid, the facility served it's purpose but it's for sure showing it has been around for quite some time.

The manager called us to confirm the room. We spent time at Hershey till the park closed. It was a nice courtesy call to hold the room for us when we didn't check in. The room was worse for wear. The mattresses were badly stained, the sink handle was broken off and squeaky, the towel rack anchors were coming out of the wall and there was about 30 years worth of shower caulk disintegrating around the shower door. Nothing in the shower had been updated since the 1980's. Our reservation was for a party of 4, but we only had two bath towels, and the maid hung the shower floor mat over the shower door, which then had a black dirty streak on it. Also, we had a late night and came down for breakfast a little after nine, and everything was gone. Cleaned up and missing. I know that some establishments make the cut off for breakfast at 9, but I thought that was a little premature. We were expecting breakfast with our stay and instead had to go to a local diner to feed our kids. In all, I guess I got what I paid for, which was about $75 dollars for this room.

Good for a quck stay. Price was great. Only bagels available for breakfast and there were hairs on the bathroom floor and a half drank water bottle on the counter.

Good for the price. Easy access to freeway.

Decent bed and bedding. Surprisingly quiet for a good sleep. OK if you need to pull off the road and grab some sleep. Room was shabby and run-down, and it appears that the only thing updated was the bed.

QUIET

First they told us they needed a $100 “refundable deposit” upon arrival that would be refunded in 2-3 days if the room was found satisfactory. Nothing mentioned at booking. We took pictures of the room before and after just to cover ourselves. Shower was so dirty I would have felt like I needed a shower after getting out so I went without. Coffee pot in room was disgusting. I’m a coffee addict and went without. Floors in the whole room were sticky. The ceiling above the sink obviously suffered a leak at one time (2nd floor) and was not fixed. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep that’s exactly what this place is.
