Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey North

First red flag- upon arrival, the front desk attendant (quite possibly a homeless man but very kind) surprised us by awakening from the couch in the dimly lit lobby and asked us if we had the correct address. Sadly, we did. Side note, the lobby couch was held up by a phone book and can of kidney beans, adding to the shady drug-trafficking ambience. Many rooms were just left wide open. Beds were not made. Felt like we were in a funhouse on a bad acid trip. We have a good sense of humor and adventure and didn't get bedbugs oe hepatitis so chock this one up to a hilarious tale.

Missed to read the previous reviews just for this hotel and we paid the price. Absolutely dreary with zero cleanliness. Amenities were horrible. Breakfast was just bagel, milk and yogurt. Ok to just sleep for the night.

The hotel Did Not match the pictures on the Internet. It was down a road that wasn’t visible from main road. Outside had broken down sheds on property and some of the windows showed rooms with piles of furniture and old dirty curtains. Inside the couch in lobby was held up by a book and a can of kidney beans!! The rooms and bathroom was old and outdated but looked like they updated the floor. Beds were hard and the air conditioner was very dirty and old. Very Very Disappointing and didn’t feel safe.

The rooms were dirty. There were wet towels in the room when we got into the room.

They are in the middle of renovating and some doors where missing locks and handles, and the furniture and surroundings were very out dated.

This place looks old and abandoned from the outside! We weren’t even sure it was still open when we pulled up to it.

We checked in, looked at our room, and immediately cancelled our stay and went elsewhere. Walking to the room, several of the rooms along the hallway had broken doors. When we opened our door the room immediately smelled mouldy. The ceiling was caving in, the air conditioner and bathroom ceiling fan were covered in dirt and dust, the bathroom light didn't work in the shower, the shower was mouldy all around the outside. Not to mention the other areas of the hotel - the lobby couch is being held up by a book and can of soup instead of a couch leg, the outside of the motel is overgrown with weeds. It felt very dirty and unsafe. The front desk gentleman was absolutely lovely and gave us no hassle at cancelling. I'm sure it's happened many times before.

Walking in and seeing the couch in the lobby being held up by a large can of beans should have told me everything I needed to know. Yes a can on beans was being used since one of the legs of the couch was missing. I do not expect much from a continental breakfast but to say it was lacking is an under statement. Breakfast started at 6am so I figured everything would be set up by 630 when I went. Walking into the lobby I was greeted by a woman sleeping on the aforementioned couch snoring so loud I heard it walking down the hall. I go into the dining area to find 6 bagels in sealed bags with moisture droplets inside the bags. I could not find an expiration date on them and sadly there was not a single other item available. Not a piece of fruit or danish, nothing. I was thankful the coffee maker was working but couldn’t find a teabag anywhere for my mother. I returned at 7 to find the woman still sleeping on the couch and the attendant from the night before came out. I asked if they had any teabags, at which time the woman woke up and took her place at the desk. He asked her to get teabags, she hands me one and I go back to my room. Upon checking out at 745 I looked to make my mother another cup of tea and still no teabags were put out. We ended up at a local dinner.

This entire hotel needs upgraded.It smells old and mildewy. The ceiling in my room apparently leaks .It's dirty looking. The air conditioning is full of dust and dirt.
