La Demeure

This is beyond expectation. I am glad that I spent my holiday here. Staff are very friendly Andrade us feel at home.our room was wonderful and comfortable and clean especially.location is excellent. Would definitely recommend for family/friends vacation

Excellent hotel with a breath taking view of the ocean. I loved the deco and the kind and welcoming staff. It is surely a place I look forward to visiting again. I would totally recommend the hotel to anyone who loves travelling to Africa.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at La Demeure in late 2017. Our room was quite lovely and quiet. We especially loved hanging out on the roof terrace for breakfast (plentiful & yummy) and evening relaxation. The views were fantastic, from the Renaissance monument to the sea. We also loved their home goods store and got some great gifts for family there. The staff was helpful and the manage spoke English... helpful when we needed to plan taxi rides and other travel. It also happens to be owned by a Black Senegalese woman which I greatly appreciated.

This is a lovely hotel, full of character and a little way out of the main part of town. Therefore in theory quieter and it’s true for outside noise (although there is a mosque being built just around the corner which may affect that) but the owners have a flat on the top floor and their noisy footsteps and the dog rushing around make it difficult to sleep. Earplugs made all the difference. My bedroom was huge, very comfortable, with a fantastic shower and spotlessly clean. The same cannot be said for the swimming pool which was a big disappointment – small, dirty and full of tissues. The food was great, especially the delicious local fish dinner and the honesty bar is a nice touch for drinks. Meals are served in the lovely rooftop bar area which is a great place to hang out, particularly if they have the radio on with local music. There is also a lovely, but expensive, homewares shop on site. Staff were mainly good and one receptionist was outstanding whilst another struggled to be helpful and found any kind of request a challenge.

This hotel counts with 9 rooms and is located close to the Ngor beaches. Decoration and style are mixing up African and Asian references with European materials. Breakfast is served at the terrace (9-10 euros per person) with a wide offer of good products. It is an expensive option compared to others in the area, but it offers you a comfortable and conveniente place to relax after experiencing Dakar.

We reserved this room for our son who arrived in Senegal a day before us. We could not stay in Dakar for complicated reasons, but we did get a chance to see the room and the facilities. The room was spacious and well appointed and our son was very pleased with his stay. My responses are based on my son's report and my own perceptions when I stopped by to pick him up.

Excellent location close to restaurants, bars and clubs yet in a very peaceful neighborhood. Warm and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful home kept at a very high standard with very tasteful decor. Calm, quiet and relaxed vibe, great place to relax and unwind, also only 5 minutes from the ocean. I can highly recommend La Demeure and will most definitely re visit during my next stay in Dakar.

My first time to Senegal at this cozy and beautiful guest house . 3 mns away from the beach. Great friendly staff and very nice and clean rooms . The rooms are tastefully furnished and it's the place to be if you are looking for a unique spot . We enjoyed every minute of it and we will be back . I would definitely recommend this place .

perfect place for a week in dakar beautifull. roof top and very gôod breakfast . it is actually located in the best part of the city (almadies)very safe area, comfortable room and good Wi-Fi connection . the staff are very kind and helpful i was like at home honestly for me it's the place to be in Dakar

This is a very nice place, not cheap for Dakar standards, but in an "upmarket" area which partially explains this. Stayed in Djakharta suite, separate bedroom for the parents, two beds for children. Breakfast is excellent and served in rooftop terrace. There are different 'living' rooms in the building where you can also sit / relax / read if this is to your liking. Some details in the rooms might need some fixing, but that is the charm of staying in such a country and choosing a B&B like this. If you cannot accept that, by all means go to a Radisson Blu and experience the same stay you can all over the world (but why come to Dakar then ?). The pool is outside of reach for the sun, so probably only really useful in the hottest days, where its coolness would be refreshing. If you do like to go to the "Dakar Plateau" (Place d'independence), you need to know it is 20 minutes drive at least. At the other hand, airport, Ngor are quite close. Negotiate well and taxi rides are not expensive anyway. Wifi @ Rooftop worked fine, in room didn't - no big deal. All in all to be recommended.
