"You do not get what is promised and what you pay for"

4.0

The hotel location is decent - the terrasse on the top has a lovely view and is done very nice (although pretty much windy in February for taking breakfast there every morning with small kids). We expected to get two sleeping rooms and a small living room. In the end the casablanca "suite" turned out to have one nice sleeping room and a bathroom in the middle (without shower curtain...which means the whole room gets flooded easily) between the sleeping room and living room -with only one door between the living room and bathroom - hence if you shower or use the toilet in the evening - everybody in the sleeping room might be disturbed. We had to stay one week with three small kids in these rooms, which are massively overpriced with 99.000 XOF. The sofas in the living room were supposed to be the two additional beds (no mosquito nets btw...)!!! the living room is build into the building - hence almost all outside walls are directed towards the other rooms/connecting hall - whereas they are extremely thin - windows are also towards the floor/hall which is connecting all sort of rooms they are renting out (nice when people come in late and turn on the light in the hall or are drunk and try to get into your "suite" at 2am). The really delicious breakfast unfortunately starts late (7.30 weekdays and 8am weekend) and is with 6.000 XOF excluded from the room rate. If one needs to go to work -. like I did - it is not possible to take the breakfast in the hotel during the week (7.30 means they start slowly to prepare it - so do not count on getting it before 7.45ish at the earliest). Last evening - after a whole day at the beach with a lot of sand in the clothes and on the body - there was no water in the rooms - we informed the people working in the hotel and they said they will take care. In the end they used smelly water from the pool - although telling us that it is water from the reservoir and expecting that we are bathing our baby boy and our toddler twins in this water (which came out brownish from the tap) - again this is for 99.000 XOF per night without breakfast. As the living room was not having real beds and was jsut to noise int he evenings - our kids slept in the end on a mattress on the ground in our sleeping room beside our bed....again for 99.000 XOF per night!!! We won't go there again and will not recommend to anybody else - for families with small kids it is not big enough and for single people you get better services for much less costs in other hotels accross Dakar. We just could not manage to find a new hotel in such short time, which is why we had to stay there the whole week. Except from je suis desolee - nothing really was done from the hotel side to compensate their misinformation at booking stage (they said it is two rooms plus living room) nor the water issues the last day or that their children guests have to sleep basically on a matrress on the ground!

"Good breakfast on the terrace!"

6.0

This place is great for brunch in the sun on a nice little cosy rooftop terrasse. The food is ok, it's more a matter of the ambiance and also there is not much choice for breakfast in Dakar. The only really bad thing about this place is that you eat on the rooftop (3 stories up) and the bathroom is completely downstairs. You it's quite far for older people since there are only stairs. They also have a nice crafts store, it's expensive but worth it.

"Great people, good food & scenic rooftop "

10.0

Many thanks & much love to all staff Dina, Mami, Cheikh and Benjamin for a memorable enjoyable stay. I was in room tomboutou on 1st floor for 4 nights. Good wifi coverage in room, weaker throughout property. Airport transfer reliable & dependable. Swimming pool adequate very cold water good after a hot sultry day out. Excellent resident cooks enhanced my mealtime experience. Breathtaking view of the Atlantic upstairs. Conch shells as ashtray original, useful, creative. Excursions can be arranged with Dina and Cheikh. Locale is a 10 to 15-minute drive to airport in quiet balmy Almadies neighborhood. Pointe Almadies & Africa renaissance monument same distances away in different directions.
