Stanmore Bay Beach House

Loved that it was right next to the beach and central to wonderful cafes and restaurants. Appreciated the muffins and oatmeal on arrival. Excellent sunset views!

Wonderful beach house with everything and much more we needed for fantastic holidays. The views from the veranda are beautiful, and the house is close to the beach, hiking trails, fishing spots, restaurants, and shops. Communication and incheckning are very easy. We loved to stay there .

Very well appointed and reasonably priced. It is good to arrive at a place late at night with milk, tea and good coffee available (not to mention the muffins which went down well thank you). Good initial communication from the hosts prior to arrival and quick responses to subsequent clarifications re. arrival time.

The extremlely poor level of cleanliness throughout the property did put a damper on our experience from the off, ie, dirt under beds and sofas including used ear buds, had not been cleaned in a very long time. Dirty skirting boards, dead insects on window cills, dirty windows, food wrapper down stuck down the sofa, just general yuk. After bringing this to the owners attention it wasn't, unfortunately, resolved in anyway for us, as the response was just a thank you for my bringing this to his attention and he will improve in the future, obviously, this was of no help to me and my family, a most disappointing reaction. The misleading information regarding the facilities available at the property as per the description given , ie, additional toilet, tumble dryer, board games/puzzles/books/dvd's, laptop safe etc, all not available, really no point in saying these things are available, its misselling the advantages of booking this property above others. No usable wardrobe or storage space at all, as what is available is all full with the owners stuff, towels and linen, perhaps this is the storage for all the holiday units on site, but nowhere whatsoever for guests to store anything of their own. The bunk beds were not securely fastened to each other and were wobbly which was unsafe and therefore not usable, fortunately there was only four of us, so we didn't need to use. The property is not detached (as described) as another holiday unit is attached to it, it is also on a small complex of similar properties which was not what we expected. This may be why there is not an external photograph of the property. The property information book was lacking in useful info, ie no instructions for the use of applicances, we later found these on a shelf behind the glasses in the kitchen, who would know to look there?

Nothing negative

Family focused, very clean, comfortable, quiet but handy to all shops. Great beach and park next door. We just loved it. Oh and lots of kitchen equipment, pictures on the wall, bits and pieces to feel homely.
