Hostellerie Du Royal Lieu

I was on a tour de France visiting friends when I stopped at this very cozy hotel restaurant in the city of Compiegne in Oise department (not hauts-de-seine as people described here). The young team of personnel looked after us and served a great dinner. The white asparagus apetizer, prime rib main and cheese selection matched by a great wine selection did a great jb for me and my colleagues. Not to be missed if you go near Compiegne!

My wife and i stayed here for 2 nights. The upstairs suites are classy and good value. The restaurant is good but quite expensive. The rooms are at the rear so there is no road noise. A nice place to stay.

The rooms were not very good. Our room was small, clean but had no bedspread just a tired blanket. We were tired after a long day and had no trouble sleeping. We booked here for the food which was very good. Would not stay here again but would go to the restaurant.

Just outside the main part of the town but very close to the excellent deportation museum , so probably quieter than the centre of town . Very convenient secure parking at the back of the hotel . Very nice gardens and outdoor seating . Perfectly adequate bedroom , not huge , but fine . Nicely decorated with separate bathroom ( with over the bath shower) and toilet . The rooms are accessed from the outside , they are in a row almost motel style . Excellent wi -fi reception . Breakfast was adequate ( continental style ) but dinner was really very good and not too pricey . Extremely friendly , helpful and efficient staff .

We have stayed here a couple of times, and this time we really enjoyed the hospitality of this fine little hotel. We were there the night before we were to leave from CDG airport, after a tiring driving trip. We felt immediately welcome and valued. The desk was friendly and charming. We had private, free, enclosed parking. Our room was immaculately clean and had a lovely garden view. The bar and restaurant were above reproach. The rooms are not trendy, but have a nice old-timey charm that was just what we needed. The wi-fi worked just great. The area has some historic sites to visit (Pierrefonds Chateau, the train car where the Armistice was signed, a Jewish internment center from WW 2), and its proximity to the airport make it a great stop.

We stayed here for 1 night and really enjoyed it. It's only 2 - 2.5 hours from Calais so Compiegne is a good place to break the journey. The hotel is 5 minutes from the motorway and easy to find. It's a little old fashioned and the rooms are quite small (think 2 star) but it has a secure car park and a lovely restaurant.

One night here but the hotel is nice and old fashioned. The room was comfortable but I missed a kettle to make a drink. Unfortunately it was raining and, not having air conditioning (which I didn't expect) I opened the windows at the invitation of mosquitoes. The rear garden is beautiful and the fine restaurant is grand, with a terrace view. The quality of food was good but expensive (for a 3-star establishment). However it is recommended if one wants an older type of hotel that is not part of a chain.

Excellent parking and there is a free bus into town just up the road, although last bus is quite early. Taxi back from town reasonable price and walkable for those with the energy. Rooms slightly dark because of trees in parkland garden, but this is outweighed by the peace. Staff very pleasant and helpful but scarce. Food in restaurant looks superb, beautifully presented and served but did not live up to its appearance. Breakfast good.

Not much of an experience. Price is pretty high given the small rooms and the average breakfast. you can hear the neighbor next door. Nothing worth seeing in the neighborhood, essentially a place to sleep after a day of driving. Bathrooms could use some refurbishing. Staff is nice but hard to find. Nice garden though. All in all, overpriced and lacking charm.

A nice hotel in the outskirts of Compeigne, conviently located several minutes from the motorway. The rooms are nice (think motel) and overlook a lovely garden. The restaurant is excellent. There is secure parking for cars.
