Econo Lodge Birmingham - Hoover

Check in was quick and easy. For just a overnight stay it was fine. Definitely needs to be updated. There is a wing place right next to the hotel so that was convenient

No blanket. Unpleasant odor

It met our needs just fine.

Price was reasonable. It is what you pay for. Very loud from traffic and paper thin walls to the outside. No breakfast or open lobby in the mornings but is listed when I booked. Rooms are fine once your inside. Outside is a little sketchy. Guy was working on his mustang until 12am right outside of our room which wasn't his. But it was a handicap parking space.

The property is very convenient being near a major interstate. The price is also good. One particular staff member's behavior was EXTREMELY unacceptable.

Employees were rude bathrooms nasty and extremely noisy all night

Very gross place! On a road trip & got there around 1 am. Had it been earlier, we would have “ate” the $70 and stayed elsewhere! Area was sketchy. I worried my car would be stolen. Didn’t feel safe, used luggage to barricade the door. Thank God we brought pillows and blankets. Their pillows were flat/lumpy. Saw a cockroach on floor get eaten by a spider. This motel should charge by the hour. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car, rather than this roach motel. It was the worse place I ever stayed.

Good place Toto stay

The hotel needs some renovation, but the location was perfect. The room was a smoking room and it had a strong smoke smell when I walked in the door, but after keeping the door open about 20 minutes it was much improved. The room and the bathroom were clean, but you might want to pack a few wash clothes and towels because the ones in the room are strictly no frills. Yes I would definitely stay there again because of the location.

When I first entered the room there was a dead smashed roach on the floor. The room was suppose to be non smoking, however it reeked of cigarettes. The top blanket has holes from smoking. Every time I moved on the bed it was squeaking. I could hear EVERYTHING that was going on upstairs and beside me. The towels were not white they were a dingy color and smelled of a chemical. I am confused on how others are giving this property a 10. They say you get what you pay for. That is true with this property.
