Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Champaign

I loved my week here. The staff was super friendly and it was nice and clean. I came back late at night alot and it was well lite every night. Thank you for the wonderful stay. I will definitely be back💓

The room that we reserved (2 queens) was unavailable and we were given a king instead. No accommodations made.

Location

Breakfast wasn’t ready at 6:30. Had pet and was on 3rd floor. Not able to state I have a pet when reserving room.

VERY QUIET HOTEL

Excellent property from a value for money perspective. As you may know this is a university town. Hotel is around 15 minutes from the airport. Typical Bread and Breakfast infrastructure. Doesn't serve flat loaves of bread for breakfast. Ample car parking. Has a microwave and a laundry facility. Indoor pool is available.

Good stay with friendly staff

The lady who checked me in kept saying they might charge me twice for the room since I used Expedia. But she said she took care of it. The hotel is ok, but needs some repairs. TV too small. Hotel needs to be updated. Old bathroom, microwave, refrigerator. Morning lady was not too friendly. For this area there are better hotels at that price.

Make sure you take pictures of the room before you leave so the hotel doesn’t try and sneak any extra fees on your bill. Our night here was the worst experience I have EVER had at a Marriott property. The hotel was extremely dated, and the room smelled musty and was unclean. There was an air freshener in the AC unit and mold in the shower. The room fell far below the standards we would expect from a Marriott property (or a Motel 6). We didn’t speak up about it because we didn’t want to cause a problem and were only staying one night. Turns out we were making a $190 mistake without knowing it. Shortly after we checked out, we realized the hotel quietly snuck a $190 cleaning fee onto our bill without telling us. When I called about it, the front desk associate claimed our dog “peed on both beds.” We explained that wasn’t possible, as the dog was never left unattended in the room and was never let on the beds, but that didn’t matter — they were going to squeeze the extra money out of us and there was nothing we could do to stop it. The worst part: we realized we had slept on the same urine-stained mattress they made us pay to clean. Choose a different hotel, and if all else fails, just sleep in your car. Just don’t come here.
