Nice location, clean and good food.

When you're in the very top rooms, it gets very hot. Head room not good if over 5ft 6" especially in the shower. Pillows are very hard.

The building and surrounding area was beautiful, staff at reception were so nice and professional. They surprised me with drinks and card for my birthday! private seating area next to lake was unique and interesting experience with family. Breakfast was good too.

Dinner menu could be more exciting. Its important to have charging plugs in car park soon

The location was fantastic

A 2 night stay and booked the hotel because it promotes on it’s website that it has a brasserie so we were looking forward to a nice dining experience but it only offered a run of the mill pub menu to my dismay,I assumed because there was a 200 guest wedding reception on the day we arrived and the kitchen staff prioritised that which is perfectly understandable, but when I questioned the front of house I was informed that was the only menu. The rest of the stay was ok and the breakfast was really nice. Come on Bowden hall( Mercure ) sort it out the hotel cries out for a brasserie.

The staff here were all exceptional, On arrival we were given a room which was a little tired but fine but unfortunately the bed was a small double so I went to reception and asked to be moved but unfortunately as a wedding was being held there it wasn't possible until the next day . The receptionist said to us to pack all our stuff up and leave by the front door the next and they will move our belongings to a room which is a better one. When we got back from our day out we were given our new cards and our new room. The bed was lovely and big but the old room was actually bigger and better 😂 but I had a lovely birthday card and a small token which was lovely. We would return as the staff were so so good , professional and helpful but we would definitely want to find out what room we had been assigned before arriving.
