Comfort Inn & Suites Surprise Near Sun City West

Everything was great. Good breakfast.

Not the fault of the hotel but our last night there was a group of boys and they were very loud running up and down the hall.

I try not to rate budget hotels too harshly but the Comfort Inn in Surprise, WAS a disappointing surprise. We had stayed here before and simply don’t remember it having the issues we experienced on this trip! In terms of the positives: “great location” for exploring nearby communities, eateries and other services. “Supportive Front Desk Staff” & “Clean Room” BATHROOM: was a functional challenge with the tub and toilet enclosed in a small room that you could hardly close the door! The sink and counter were located in the main area. (So you had to moisturize, beautify in a separate room as there was no counter space in the shower/toilet area. BREAKFAST: ..hate to be so picky but wondering if the hotel bought that off-brand strawberry/banana yogurt in bulk? That’s the only kind of yogurt served all 5 mornings of our stay. (Allergies to bananas so that’s why I noticed). For toast: the offering was white bread, white bread and white doughy bagels. And the bacon?! (If that’s what it was). why not skip the bacon if you’re going to use some overly processed meat-substance. The first morning, they had run out of hot food an hour before they closed. The hubby went down later and they had brought some biscuits (still partially frozen) and gravy. Several TV challenges that the staff could not resolve including tv stuck in some sound setting in which a narrator described the scene, presumably for vision-impaired folks. Smart TVs weren’t smart at all on a Saturday night! (Too little bandwidth?!?! When spending $200/night (in high season) as a budget traveler, I still expect a decent bathroom layout, “ok” breakfast and a decent TV that doesn’t aggravate! So, NO… I don’t recommend the Surprise Comfort Inn.

The location was very convenient for me.

I wanted to utilize the bathtub in my room but there was no way to plug the drain. The breakfast - I had to ask staff to make coffee. The bacon seemed very under cooked.

The Staff was GREAT.

The room, the place needed cleaning.

Close proximity to stadium.
