"GreT hotel just felt let down"

Ok lets start with it being a really great hotel, staff were welcoming and room was huge clean and comfortable. However given the price point there is better value out there locally. Felt disappointed with the evening meal, portion sizes werent great and a 40 min wait on desert from order to table...the room we had must have been nezt to the watwr tank for the adjacent rooms as we had what sounded like a water feature from 7am...loud enough to wake a heavy sleeper... But as i started off, a truly great hotel and have been drawing comparison to some other Spa hitels in Devon.

Absolutely stunning. Looks like a castle when you arrive. The staff are so friendly and lovely and the bar and restaurant realty nice. Very good food for vegetarians too

"Slightly disappointing"

This was a one day stop over on our way to Cornwall. The room was well equipped but there were maintenance issues in the bathroom. The room itself was quite dark and small but the bed was comfortable. We stayed for two meals and the service was a little disappointing albeit polite. We chose the place from the list of hotels that have EV charging points. This hotel has two Tesla destination chargers (usable by most recent EVs). Unfortunately, one was not functional. It seems maintenance of facilities is done by reaction rather than pro-action! There are some nice walks in a forest just north of the hotel but access to these requires a hike along roads as there is a golf course in the way!
