Mamamia Island Villa

Nice pool and cute rooms. Excellent Japanese restaurant right next door and a short walk into Mushroom Bay.

It was wet season so the place was overrun by mosquitoes. Getting anywhere apart from Mushroom bay is a bit of a mission. Not a lot of in house food options on offer.

Deluxe double bed is actually two singles pushed together, something we weren’t aware of before booking.

We booked 4 nights in this place and as soon as we arrived we negotiated a way to leave. As usual the few staff that is in the hotel is lovely and very helpful. The hotel it is desperate for investment and mantainance. Whilst the rooms are "okay", the details are in all honesty terrible. Outdated, run down. Rusted bottles of water in the bathroom, badly stained water glasses, loose door knobs, stains in sheets, pillows, terrible old towels, etc etc. The pool is okay, it feels slippery, mouldy and dirty though. The lobby feels already dirty, and this same happens in the rooms. Breakfast it is plain and terrible. Our bathroom was pretty sad, old and lacks personality and maintenance badly. I'm glad the owner was fairly flexible for us to cancel the reservation as we would have had a terrible time. The hotel has potential, but it feels like there is a major lack of interest in making a good place of it. There is only a few staff and this place needs a woman's touch. Would not recommend to anyone and I do not understand how is it so highly rated.

Very clean and close to front restaurant and massage facility.

Beautiful cottage accommodation with semi outdoor bathroom and veranda overlooking the pool and gardens. Quiet location within 15 mins walk of two lovely beaches. A couple of restaurants very close to accommodation but no restaurant on site. However breakfast is served on site if ordered the night before.The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I understood there was a restaurant on site but this wasn't the case. They will order food in for you from their restaurant which is at Yellow Bridge. This was only an issue when I first arrived and wanted something to eat quickly in the middle of the day when the nearby restaurants weren't open and I hadn't found my way around. The roads surrounding the accommodation aren't lit at night so be careful walking around after dark

But the four stars it is advertised as. Missing a lot of things it says it has - no onsite restaurant, no view, no desk. Staff speak no English. Pool is hot

We had a great stay here, the hosts are really friendly and accomodating. The pool is great and the location is easily walkable to lots of secret scenic spots and mushroom bay beach.

Garden was well kept and beautiful.

Villa needs a lot of maintenance and improvement. Seems that it was built and now has it's end days. Door handles and locks were broken and barely held to the door. In order to have any doors closed you need to constantly take out the key and lock them (this was extremely annoying). The floor next to the fridge was broken (you could see the ground) and fridge itself has an awful stench. The provided water bottles were really dirty and old, the water as well - stinks like it's been there for months. The AC is badly placed - fans blowed in our face (uncomfortable) and it was impossible to set the correct temperature (there were false Celsius numbers on the remote and it waa either cold or not working). Window curtains were really dirty and the bed net had some holes. Bathroom was partly outside and was very hot as sun is boiling the room through roof windows. Poll outside was nice, but had slimy walls and the staff put chloride in it in the middle of the day (not at evening/night as it should be). Breakfast had various options but staff brought us wrong food in one of the two night stays. In the first night there was a festival in the Devil's tears, so it was really noisy till midnight. Villa's lobby aquarium/pool hasn't seen cleaning in years (has some fish in it). The scooter we were given had no licence plates, felt like it might fall apart and the helmets we were offered were too big, extremely bad quality and even broken.
