Fountain Point

It was wonderful. We were there for a family function not far away, so we were not there for the entire day. Also, keep in mind when you look at my review, I knew before-hand that there was no central air and that we shared (2) bathrooms with others on our floor (3rd floor). Our stay was during August that had 90+ degree days. We had a window air conditioner and a fan in our room that was more than adequate to cool our room in a short amount of time. We would turn off the air conditioner when we left for the day and when we returned, it would take about 10 minutes to cool the room. Due to the fact that they had 2 bathrooms available, there was only one time (in the morning) that I had to wait, no more than 10 minutes, to use the bathroom. The beach is so nice. Lots of beach chairs there to use.Children played and swam while we watched. There is a raft not very far out that they played on. A teatherball set and the firepits made the beach area complete. Up at the hotel, they had many chairs and porch rockers on the outside porch that faced the lake. Inside, they also have a "game room" with, as I remembered, a shuffle board table, pool, pingpong and fooseball. I think that there may also have had board games available. What a great area for non-video family fun. We had a beautiful stay and plan on returning next year.

The property is incredible. Beautiful location. Lovely beach. Interesting history. The staff were friendly and always available. Great location for families/reunions. It was awesome to use kayaks and have opportunity to learn rowing if you chose to. Great area. Close to tourist areas, restaurants, wineries. Sharing the baths in the lodge was a little odd. But it is clearly due to age of the facility which is unique. Poor water pressure in showers.

Definitely outdated, but part of the charm.long as you know what the scenario is a d prepare accordingly, no worries.

We had a great time because we love being outside in the grounds and the lake . We wished we had a bathroom in our bedroom but maybe next time . Had a very relaxing week .

It was great to sit on the porch and watch the water and read. Lots to do. Kayaking, swimming, shuffleboard, etc. I loved the historic feel of the place. Great for families or groups. It takes you to a bygone era.

Very little interaction with staff. Lack of attention to some details. Like there were no coffee cups where they were supposed to be. You get the feeling the owners are absentee and don’t want to adequately staff the place. It is misleading to say you have a private bath in the hotel. Really they are shared baths with others staying there. I guess they say private because only one person uses it at a time. It was no problem though.

A wonderful spot on a wonderful lake, one that has clear, calm water, and is very quiet. The resort is old, but very cool, with a lot of history and a great sense of spirit. Lots of free amenities like kayaks and paddleboards, and very nice old school cozy cottages.

It’s clean and peaceful. We like the grounds a lot. It’s right at the Leelanau lake. The resort has many equipments for playing at the lawn and on the water.
