Residence Inn by Marriott Missoula Downtown

Place was really nice and rooms was fabulous

Really inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The room was very clean and great size. Loved the views. The bathroom is large with a walk-in shower. We were doing a staycation, and this made us feel like we were getting away. Great location.

This hotel is in a great location. The breakfast buffet is nicely stocked, rooms are clean, lobby is welcoming. Every staff interaction I had was terrific...they are all so friendly and helpful. The gym is large and well-stocked. Great Thai restaurant just off the lobby. My issue here is a safety issue regarding the hotel gym. During my stay, a college team did a team workout in the gym. They completely took over the gym and were intruding on other hotel guests by playing loud music (other guests all headphones, which is what one typically does in a gym, to not disturb others); they got very close to other guests during their workouts, which was startling and a bit scary (I could see guests like jump a little, when a ball bounced too close to them, or a jump rope was hitting too close for comfort); they yelled/talked loudly to each other. But most importantly, a piece of their equipment got away from one athlete, rolled under a treadmill and jammed it, causing the woman on the treadmill to be thrown off. No one was injured, but it was a shock for the woman. and it was unacceptable for the athletes to take over the gym like they did. Obviously, any hotel guest can use the gym, but this group was so disrespectful to others in the gym. The hotel needs to keep a better eye on this. Perhaps post signs that ask everyone to use headphones, like other Marriotts do, not play music without headphones, mind their distance from others, etc. If the hotel is going to allow a group of athletes to use the gym, they need to requirements about spacing, music, and safety.

Front lobby was really loud at check in because they have a bar 10 feet from the front desk. It was hard to hear the FD worker tell me about the amenities. Also, i happen to stay the week they were testing the fire alarms which was pretty obnoxious. I called FD asking for an extra blanket on my second night and it never arrived. The room itself was great, though.

Very nice happy hour in the lobby and nice restaurants accessed from the lobby. Great experience when it is freezing outside.
