"Poor"

2.0

I went to this hotel in September to celebrate a couple of special birthdays and to be honest the hotel staff were wonderful. My husband surprised me with a ring from the hotel jewellery shop for my birthday which cost €230. I had been back a month when I noticed one of the stones had fallen out. I reported it straight away to the hotel as the jewelry shops’s phone number was unattainable, and both are refusing to repair replace or refund because I ‘wore it’!!!!!! How ridiculous. The hotel is trying to distance themselves from the jewellers but if you have them on your premises you need to take responsibility. Under EU consumer law (Directive 2019/771), all goods sold in the EU are covered by a two-year legal guarantee. If a fault appears within the first 12 months, it is presumed to have existed at the time of purchase, unless the seller can prove otherwise. . DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT THIS HOTEL it’s a con!!

"Not 5*"

6.0

We stayed at the Electra Palace for a week in September. The hotel is lovely but it definitely isn't a 5* hotel. The hotel is modern and looks lovely but there are a lot of factors that let it down. Around the pool area there are plenty of sunbeds and even when coming down later on in the morning we never had an issue finding beds. There is a QR code to order drinks to your sunbed however more often than not, these never arrived. There is a DJ around the pool, the volume was fine most of the time but occasionally it did feel a little overwhelming. The aqua aerobics music is far too loud. The location is great, right on the sea front. For a quicker walk into town, walk down to the seafront and turn right, this will lead you to many lovely bars and restaurants. San Alotte being our favourite! The rooms are decent and well equipped, however for a 5* I would expect the tea, coffee and mini fridge to be restocked but neither of them were. We didn't try either of the restaurants on site as we ate out most evenings. We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel and one evening meal, the buffet is okay but not very toddler friendly (pasta and chips were available) The restaurant shut at 9:30 and after that there is no availability for an evening snack anywhere in the hotel. The service wasn't great in the buffet, there were often times at lunch where there was no drink order taken so we were left to have lunch without one. Drinks are incredibly poor. Other than in the reception bar and the restaurant, these are served in damaged, cloudy, plastic cups which really isn't in keeping with the 5* rating. I understand plastic round the pool, but thay really should be where the plastic ends. There were also instances where cocktails were served in paper coffee cups and beer was served in plastic wine glasses. We made our way through most of the cocktail menu to try and find one that was palatable but none of them were which was a big disappointment. Soft drinks were also bad. Our saving grace was thr Rainbow Bar across the road, their drinks are amazing and so are the staff. The morning of check out we were offered the opportunity to book a private shower room later on in the day as our pick up wasn't until the evening. Two members of our party booked this, only to be sent downstairs to the women's changing facilities which were not private and full of multiple other women who had also booked the same time. We didnt book the late check out because the cost is extortionate for the sake of a few hours, especially when we didnt arrive until gone midnight on the first day and still paid for said room. We wouldn't stay here again unless the hotel was to lose a star and reflect that in the cost of the holiday as it was incredibly expensive for us to not receive a 5* service.

"Great looking hotel, let down on multiple levels."

4.0

We spent a long time researching this holiday as it was our first family trip in years, but our experience was very disappointing. Stayed with two young children on an easyJet Holidays package. Rooms & Accommodation Negative: Our room was not the suite we booked and we had to move four times before getting the correct room. Moving/packing/unpacking repeatedly with young children was exhausting and stressful for everyone, and the opposite of relaxing. During these room moves, several expected amenities were missing – minibar never filled and issues with getting pool towels despite multiple requests for both. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue, excessive mould, hairs everywhere from previous guests. One bathroom flooded with stagnant, foul-smelling water upon letting the bath plug out, general drain smell most of the time (presumably due to antiquated drainage systems in the area). Frustratingly, there is only one hook in the entire room, in the shower for towels. The airplay function only worked intermittently on one tv, and not at all on the 2nd tv. Positive: The hotel gave us late checkout on our last day as compensation, and also refunded the cost of an excursion on request by myself. The beds were comfy and new towels were provided every day. The balcony in our final suite was large, and had a bug screen on the balcony door which was a great touch. Lots of wardrobe storage in our suite. Entertainment Negative: Lacklustre entertainment most nights. And limited seating in the area it was hosted. The activities for kids weren't as good as what i've experienced at other hotels, and there isn't really a very animated entertainment team in this regard. Not really anything for older kids. Positive: there was something every evening, highlights were the rock band and the dancers which my kids enjoyed. Food & Drink Negative: The buffet had limited options for picky children and vegetarians. The ice cream shop often ran out of flavours and the soft serve was out of order throughout our stay. Restaurant staff were mostly unfriendly, and getting refills at meals was incredibly difficult. Bars across the hotel had confusing and inconsistent opening hours – the pool bar was open some nights but not others, table service to sun loungers was unpredictable, and the app allowed ordering when service was unavailable. Cocktails were premixed and largely undrinkable, other wines were boxed and not great. Positive: The buffet mostly had a good selection each day, with plenty of seafood, meat, fresh salads, and local cuisine. Draught beer and sparkling wine were good. Pools & Beach Negative: Despite advertised rules against reserving sunbeds with towels, daybeds were taken by 8-9am, though standard loungers were always available. Pool not heated (which I did know about), so water was very cold at this time of year. Empty glasses/rubbish could have been collected more regularly. Positive: The hotel has a private pebble beach with sun loungers and a lifeguard. Lots of people swimming in the sea though we didn't and chose to relax on the loungers! There are plentiful normal loungers and we could always get one of those. There are plenty of pools including shallow kid's pool. Location & Surroundings Positive: The hotel looks grand with attractive grounds, close to the airport (15 mins in a taxi), and we were not affected by the noise from planes flying over. There are two small shops and the Rainbow Bar nearby (not in the hotel itself) - we enjoyed the cocktails there and the staff were friendly. Other than this it's probably a 15-20 min walk to any other amenties. Enjoyable day trips to Lindos (and the Acropolis) and Rhodes Town. Reception staff at the hotel were friendly and professional, they seemed sympathetic and apologetic towards our room issues but for whatever reason this just didn't translate into an timely solution. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, our experience fell well short of what we expected for the price paid. I would not recommend this hotel for families with young children. As an aside, I do not recommend EasyJet whose customer service team are terrible (on top of an overnight 9 hour flight delay!).

"Fabulous holiday!"

10.0

We were a group of 10, aged 11- 77 and all had a brilliant time at Electra palace. Lovely pools, cabanas, gorgeous food and good evening entertainment. Good but expensive spa, plenty of beach sun loungers. The rooms were very comfortable with fabulous aircon and honey scented bathroom products. We really enjoyed yoga and aqua aerobic classes with Christina. Beach and sea were lovely- pebbly, so beach shoes needed! Some cocktails tasted a bit ‘chemically’, but clover club and Aperol spritz were gorgeous. There weren’t many quiet places to sit- music everywhere- but it was generally good and not loud. We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed the ‘end of season’ quieter feel. Kids went to faliraki water park one day as no slides/ nearby water sports. We also did a trip to Rhodes town which was very interesting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful to organise taxis, book tables in the restaurants etc. Paul gave my parents a lovely little walking tour and hayat was great in wine vibes gastro bar.

"Lovely experience at this beautiful hotel"

10.0

Just waiting to be collected having spent a lovely week at this hotel. Whilst there is room for improvement in some areas; (the Italian restaurant evening menu, the freezing cold pool and the cockerel outside (hardly the hotels fault)) they totally warrant a 5* review due to the amazing staff. We have been treated amazingly well. The place was spotlessly clean. The buffet food was fantastic. The hotel looks amazing and was great for our family. On leaving we were presented with a gift. Such a large hotel and yet we were made to feel important. You have created a wonderful culture for your staff. Thank you

"Wonderful Stay at Electra Rhodes Hotel"

10.0

I had a fantastic experience at Electra Rhodes Hotel. The buffet restaurant offered delicious variety, and the wine bar was a real highlight—both in selection and atmosphere. The pool bar staff were exceptional, always friendly and attentive. From breakfast to dinner, the service was consistently excellent. Special thanks to Petros at Reception and the Guest Relations team for their outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!

"AVOID...not a 5* Family Hotel!!!"

2.0

This is not a 5* family resort...WARNING! Our room was extremely noisy - we could hear furniture being dragged above us early every morning, which woke our baby. We also heard toilets flushing and water running through the drains. On a few nights, drunk guests were arguing around 1 a.m., and during the day loud DJ music made it impossible to relax or take a nap! You can hear it through your headphones!! Cleanliness & Room: The overall cleanliness was poor. We were given dirty plastic cups, old discoloured pool towels, and dirty stained seating. The bathroom had no toilet roll, only tissues. Our “double” room had two singles, and there was no coffee machine or iron... basic things for a 5-star hotel. Facilities: The pool water was freezing (including the baby pool) and children weren’t allowed in the hot tub outside which was heated or indoor pool, so we couldn’t use any of them. The kids’ play area was tiny, and some outdoor furniture was unsafe, my husband cut his leg on an exposed wire. Tables were chipped... a safety hazard for my toddler walking around. Entertainment was poor too we actually ended up leaving the hotel to go into Rhodes old town. Food & Drink: Food options were very limited. After the buffet closed at 9:30 p.m., there was nothing to eat, and the bakery didn’t open until 10:30 a.m., leaving no morning snacks. Definitely not convenient for families. Cocktails were AWFUL, all pre-made and full of sugar. Hygiene: We met several guests who were unwell, and one even collapsed in reception. There was no hand sanitizer available at the buffet which was worrying. Staff: Some of the staff were lovely and tried their best, but overall the experience was disappointing and stressful. We expected much better from a hotel with this reputation and rating. I would personally AVOID this hotel and book Mitsis instead!

"Amazing!!"

10.0

Our stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was impressive, and everything was maintained to a very high standard. We felt comfortable and well taken care of during our entire stay. It was so enjoyable that we were genuinely sad to leave. Highly recommended!
