The price of the food & drink. £96 for 2 drinks & 2 x fish & chips, absolutely scandalous & a rip off.

Location of the hotel was next to the TECA convention centre where the meeting was held and hence very convenient to attend the meeting. Staff were friendly and courteous. Cab service was available in a jiffy though the prices were a bit expensive compared to other countries. Breakfast spread was good but the dinner menu could have more international options.

Bit expensive when compared to hotels which offer similar facillities.

We stayed at Hilton Aberdeen TECA for 4 nights as a family (2 adults, 3 children, two rooms and a car). There were some positives: the rooms were modern, spacious, interconnected, and very clean. The staff were consistently friendly and polite, and overall cleanliness throughout the hotel was good. However, several aspects were disappointing, especially considering this is presented as a higher-end hotel. Parking is charged at £15 per day, which already adds up for a family stay. What was more surprising was being charged for bathrobes—£10 per robe per day to use them to go from the room to the spa. We even received inconsistent information, as another staff member said it was a one-off charge. For a family of five, this becomes excessive, and it’s the first time we’ve encountered this in a hotel of this standard. The breakfast offering was limited and of low quality. The self-service pancakes were undercooked, and there were very few options for vegetarians or vegans. There was also no à la carte option. The restaurant was not good value for money and the menu needs improvement. The children’s tomato soup was essentially passata, which was disappointing. The Caesar salad was particularly poor: the anchovies were placed whole on top rather than incorporated into the dressing, resulting in a very strong, unpleasant smell. The burger was good, but overall the food did not meet expectations. In the rooms, amenities were very basic for this level of hotel. There was no bottled water or minibar—just tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and wall mounted standard toiletries. Overall, while the hotel is clean and the staff are welcoming, it feels more like an airport hotel than a family-friendly destination. It may be suitable for short business stays, but we would not recommend it for families visiting Aberdeen. The overall impression is that guests are seen more as a source of extra charges than as valued customers. It inevitably raises questions about how the hotel operates behind the scenes, including how staff are treated.
