Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, tea tray was very well stocked. Heater worked well and fair sized bathroom.

First off was the extremely strong smell of weed being smoked that was coming in through our bedroom door so much so we had to put towels down to seal bottom of door to try to keep the stink out. This went on for a few hours from around 1 am and filled our room causing sleep disruption. We left in morning before anyone was about to bring this issue up to. Also the fire escape and rear entry steps are very rickety. The macerator in bathroom seemed to be leaking also.

The noise in bathroom everything someone turned tap on or flushed toilet.

Clean room, comfy bed and convenient to the Wedding Venue.

Room a little small for a large double bed

Excellent evening meal. Spotless bed linen and towels.

Decor of room needed some attention. Would have liked breakfast earlier than 9am. Had to leave beforehand.

For a venue under new management they are working hard to get a rate of excellent. Staff were very Friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious

The downstairs outside toilet

Customer service from every member of staff was superb - there was a plumbing issue in our room, which we were informed about prior to arrival, and staff worked really hard to find a solution and keep us informed. Location was perfect for a wedding nearby, bed very comfortable

Very friendly staff and clientele

A friendly welcome, especially for the dog. It is a 16th century coaching inn, so none of the long corridors and anonymous spaces of modern hotels. Even the staff got lost when she was showing us the fire exit path!

The shower had its moment mid evening and couldn't muster up more than a feeble trickle - but that is 16th century plumbing for you. It all sorted out by the morning.

Staff were lovely. Very comfortable bed.

Bathroom dated and in need of refurbishment - I think it's in the new owners' plan.
