We would have liked to stay longer. We could have easily spent 3 weeks in this hotel and in the lovely Mirissa. The staff at this hotel is extremely friendly and extremely helpful. Very good location at few meters to everything (shops, restaurants, beach…). Everything was perfect! Breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere with plenty of choices like avocado toast, American breakfast, and pancakes. A clean and well-maintained swimming pool. Good daily room cleaning. But above all, what we will remember the most is the entire hotel team who was very attentive to our 5-year-old son. All the staff played with him daily. The experience for him was extraordinary. And on the top of all that, our child had played with a banknote and slipped it into the safety box without telling us. At check-out, this fairly high-value banknote was returned to us by the hotel staff after they checked the room. Perfect honesty and good reliability from the staff! Special mention to the managers, the chef, and also the security guard. We hope to come back to Mirissa, and it is clear that we won't hesitate for a second, we will happily stay at Aura by Epic Collection again!

The pool.

Disappointing stay overall considering the price paid. I booked this hotel for two nights during low season in Sri Lanka, and the experience was far below expectations given the rate. There was a major issue with the payment process. The booking was made with the option to pay in advance by card through Booking.com, however the hotel refused to accept or process the payment on their side. I had to deal directly with Booking.com for two days to make sure I wouldn’t be double charged. In the end it was resolved, but it left a very negative impression and added unnecessary stress to the stay. The room itself was fine, but the bathroom had visible mold and cleanliness issues. On top of that, there were problems with hot water when trying to shower, which is unacceptable at this price point. I also ordered a cappuccino priced at 950 LKR, which had no real taste and felt like watered-down coffee, yet it was still charged without any gesture or acknowledgment from the staff. Overall, while the room itself was acceptable, the combination of service issues, maintenance problems, and poor value for money means I would not recommend this hotel.

Our two-week stay was absolutely superb. From the warm welcome drink to the heartfelt farewell, the service was world-class and made us feel right at home. The facilities—especially the pool and the wildlife-filled gardens—are stunning. The entire team, though small, is truly amazing. Every member of staff went out of their way for us, including the chef who prepared incredible meals, and the waiters and room service team, who were always attentive and smiling. They kept everything spotless, and the security staff made us feel safe and looked after throughout our stay. The location is perfect: just a short walk to the beach and local restaurants, with supermarkets and shops nearby. The managers are incredible and can organise any excursion at excellent rates; our trip to Yala National Park to see elephants and crocodiles was a major highlight. A special thank you for the romantic Valentine’s Day dinner—it was the best meal of our entire holiday! They truly went above and beyond for us. We cannot recommend this place enough and hope to return soon."

The staffs at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Special thanks to Tharusha for being extremely kind and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions.
