The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

The Westin recently organized a Christmas bottomless brunch, similar to many hotels in Grand Cayman where family brunches are a popular Sunday tradition. A group of over ten of us attended, but unfortunately the experience was a disaster. At 170 KYD per person, it was simply not worth the price. The drinks were the first disappointment: the bar offered only two pre-made cocktails, both made with tequila, which none of us drink. When I asked the bartender if I could order something else, I was told to wait for the server, and when the server arrived we were informed that the only options available were prosecco, beer, or wine. Even when we requested an Aperol Spritz, which is based on prosecco, we were told no. Most of the ladies in our group don’t drink beer or wine, so prosecco was the only option left, which felt very limiting for what was advertised as a bottomless brunch. The food was equally underwhelming. On arrival, I was shocked to see boxes of cornflakes on the buffet — more reminiscent of a budget hotel breakfast than a festive family Christmas brunch. For the four vegetarians in our group, there were only salads and side dishes, with no proper main courses available. The turkey and desserts were the only redeeming elements, but overall the food quality was poor. To make matters worse, we were seated outside in the direct sun with no cover, and only one fan in the area, which was pointed at another table. We were left sweating, uncomfortable, and even our makeup was melting in the heat. We have attended brunches at Kimpton and Indigo, and while it may not be fair to compare, the difference was striking. At those venues, there were beautiful cocktails to choose from, attentive servers who kept drinks flowing, and food that was genuinely impressive. The Westin, by contrast, fell far short of expectations. Between the limited drinks, disappointing food, and uncomfortable seating, this brunch was a complete letdown. At such a high price point, the experience needs major improvement, but for us it was definitely a “never again.”

The food by the pool was absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend getting the fried fish bowl. They gave us all the fried crumbs they had at the bottom and yeah that’s what we ate and paid very much for it. Disgusting we brought it to the waiters attention and he just disregarded us. Not nice.

Here now. Titanium member. Horrible! Booked an island view room, the view is of the parking lot and main road, constant noise and zero “island” view. Almost impossible to get chairs at the beach unless you get up at 6 am. Bartenders and front desk very unfriendly. Huge disappointment.

The Westin Grand Cayman is hands down our favorite getaway. We’ve been there three times already and cannot wait to return. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel genuinely welcomed. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and always happy to go the extra mile. The food and drinks at the pool area are absolutely phenomenal and a highlight of every stay. Whether you’re relaxing by the water or enjoying a casual meal, the quality and service never disappoint. A special thank-you to Shirlando and Lekiysha, who went above and beyond to keep our kids (5 and 7) entertained. Their energy, kindness, and genuine care truly made our experience even more memorable. They are wonderful people and a real asset to the resort.

Our stay at the westin was incredible! We travelled with our kids (8yo and 6yo) and had so many incredible experiences both on and off property. The property is very well kept, cleans and relaxing - good food, great drinks and entertainment, tons of live music and games, and some of the best private beach on the island. Things were never crowded, no trouble getting seats at the pool or beach and a great mix of ages and travellers. The staff are amazing - special shoutout to Shirlando who consistently went above and beyond, is incredible with kids and ran a lot of the activities at the hotel - he made our kids feel so special and they were always excited to share their adventures with him. If you’re looking for a great place to chill for a fun family vacation or want to make it home base for island adventures, the Westin is a fantastic choice! We can’t wait to come back :)

Wow security here is awful! We were staying at Plantana which was truly amazing and wanted to walk down the beach. We walked in front of the hundreds of Westin chairs and security guards started chasing after us! On the public beach! Told us the Westin was rented for an entire week from some pool company in Arizona. Which I guess means you can’t walk on the beach? Extremely rude. We weren’t going inside the hotel we were literally walking on the beach. Would never stay here on principle that they think they can block public beach.

The hotel security were awful. We have 3 reservations for restaurants and they would not let us on the facilities to review the menu and location for our group because they said there was a private event. We will be canceling the reservation for dinner and our hotel stay for next spring and booking at the ritz. The security chased us down like we were to steal something. As a marriott ambassador elite, I am disappointed in the service of this resort.

Best hotel ever and the best General Manager. Food was out of this world as well as the suite. Great, kind staff. Cannot wait to go back!!!

Amazing family friendly resort with incredible guest service… special shout-out to Arun in Housekeeping who took extra special care of me when I had to work late one night and needed some extra coffee delivered to my room. Not only did Arun personally request my coffee but he came back later that evening to check to make sure I received it. Thank you Arun for being part of my beautiful hotel stay experience, and for making us all feel so special here! The Westin Grand Cayman is lucky to have you.

We had such a memorable time at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa! The pool and beach were amazing and it was a great location. The staff is exceptional, especially Ryan B. He went above and beyond to make sure our service was top notch! Would highly recommend!
