Hótel Flókalundur

This hotel is one of the only hotels available in this section of the Westfjords. It had a fueling station and a restaurant on site, which are very convenient. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very tasty. Breakfast the next day was small but good. There is a nearby natural hot springs, which is about a five minute walk. Our room was comfortable, with a nice bed and spacious bathroom with towel warming rack. The television did not have any stations available, but we could connect with wifi to streaming services. However, early in the evening, the wifi went out and we could no longer watch the television or use our phones to plan our next day. We went up to the front desk and noticed there was still wifi there. When the staff member came to see us, we told her the problem and asked if they could reset the router. She told us that she didn't know how to do that and the person usually in charge of the internet was not there. I asked if she could call them to ask for instructions and she argued it wasn't necessary. We explained we were trying to plan our trip and use the streaming services. Finally, she went in the back and came back out with the guy in charge of the internet who quickly solved the problem with a router reset. The entire situation left us feeling like we weren't valued customers and the staff member didn't want to bother with our concern. It was a shame, because we really enjoyed the rest of our stay there.

Space, dark skies

The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant is outstanding.

Very useful having fuel, water and air on site. Lovely spacious room looking out to the mountain behind, modern bathroom. Lots of space to sit outside or in around the hotel. Restaurant very accommodating and staff very friendly. Informed us of the natural hot pool down the road which looked out to sea. Hotel provided gowns and towels for taking to the hot pool in the room which was a nice bonus.

Location, breakfast, diner menu options, room, and staff, were all excellent.

A small refrigerator in the room would be a nice addition

Newish and very clean. Had view facing back so basically scrub. Try to ask for a fjord facing room. Breakfast in the am included self made waffles and other regular items. About 2 hr drive to latrabarg cliffs. Also walkable to Hellalaug outdoor pool. Highly recommended

Centrally located in Westfjords, allowing easy access to trails and sights. Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms.
