I have stayed at Macleay Hotel a number of times and find the service consistent. Location is convenient for me, the staff are friendly and professional and the rates are reasonable. The Macleay doesn't have a restaurant on site, but they do provide a breakfast menu order service. There are various dining options close by, including one of my favourite Thai restaurants

The hotel was clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping did a great job — towels, bathroom items, and kitchen essentials were all provided and very clean. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and cooperative throughout our stay. The location is excellent and very convenient.

Parking is quite expensive ($40 per night) and the parking area is very tight and difficult to move around, especially with laundry items stored there. We requested Opera House views but only one room had the view while the others did not. The stovetop was not working properly. There was no extra blanket provided in the room. There was also no proper control over the air conditioning. The windows didn’t feel secure to open. WiFi was good, but the password was not provided in the room and had to be requested. Also, access to upper floors required leaving the room key at reception, which was inconvenient as we needed access to our belongings.

The location, convenience and the view from our room! I really appreciate the kitchenette too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They saw I’d stayed there before and acknowledged it with me. That was very nice.

The room was super clean and had all the basics, very comfortable with a lovely view. Woolies and great bakery The Grumpy Bakery and Bar just across the road was the perfect place for breakfast.

Hair dryer only worked if you held a switch down, not user friendly. Also no USB charging points so don't forget your wall charger.
