Room condition was poor needs updating

Location was great.

The rate was a bit high than usual for a basic room especially on a weeknight, but I wanted to be at the same location as the ball team.

There are housekeeping problems here but very nice employees. It may be that they are very short handed like many business. It is also a bit more expensive than other Marriotts but not as nice. Our carpet had not been vacuumed and bathroom not cleaned. It was the same with the room we were moved to.

Dining is good.

Location was great.

No free breakfast

This is not the first time at this location. The rooms and front desk staff are great. The housekeeping staff not so much. As they cleaned the room across from ours, we asked for additional towels. We were told that we'd have to take our towels down to the front desk and exchange them there as they only cleaned rooms that had been vacated.

Big lobby. Bar was not open Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. No breakfast available on Christmas Day. Rooms are nice size with comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. They put the sheets on the bed inside out. Also the light cover was on top of the heavier comforter. Had to pull light bedspread and comforter completely off bed to just sleep with sheet and light bedspread. Only 2 wash clothes and hand towels in bathroom for 2 night stay. Nice size clean bathroom with plenty of counter space. Really thin toilet paper. Partly drank soft drink found in frig. Outside of screen and window needs to be cleaned. Nextdoor to new Dave and Buster’s. Breakfast overpriced. Breakfast sandwich was good but $12 is pricey.

Room is very spacious..there is mold in cracks in the shower..it needs updating. There was some trash under the bed..breakfasts is expensive..If clean and updated, its a nice room..#411

Everything was great

My husband and I travel frequently to Lafayette - he has an office in Broussard. We always stay in Marriott properties (Fairfield, Springhill, Residence, etc.). This property is one of the newer ones in Lafayette and located in a very nice part of town: beautiful homes in adjacent neighborhood, plenty of restaurant options, several shops such as Target, Ross, Nordstrom Rack... As I mentioned, this Courtyard is one of the newer properties but seriously lacking in service and amenities. The other properties have breakfast included (for Platinum members which we are) - NOT HERE! - here they have a Starbucks in lobby that doubles as their 'restaurant' - one can purchase their standard selections for your dining pleasure! There is also a small 'convenience' store with frozen meals (microwave & cutlery available, but no plates), soda/beer/wine, chips, etc. for purchase. Overall, the rooms, bathrooms, lobby are all well-maintained: clean, fairly modern, in good condition. The staff, though pleasant, are not well trained: many do not greet the customer upon arrival - we frequently have stepped up to desk and announced our intent to check-in; they do not have answers to basic question - is breakfast included?, how many reward points are awarded for stay?, are there plates available for microwaved food? - the response to these ,and more, is 'let me ask...' Management definitely needs to step up training for their employees as they represent the brand and are the first interaction customers have!! Though the staff try to give one a pleasant stay, they, sadly, fall short of the mark for such a posh area. One individual at this property, in particular, has ZERO business working in the 'hospitality' industry. We have stayed at this property at least 4 times in the past several months (we like the area and it's proximity to office) and have experienced (and repeatedly observed!) Patrick's, Director of Food and Beverage rudeness. He is extremely brusque, abrupt, and dismissive to customers. He is downright rude to his staff - constantly 'barking' at them, berating them in front of customers - the only time he was partially pleasant was when he was trying to sell us on some dinner that was offered! He has argued with me regarding how I ordered my eggs - finally stated 'well, THIS is how we do it here. (I'd asked for over-medium and they came sunny-side) Today's adventure is that I ordered the smallest size Starbucks (typically 12 oz) and was given a medium (16 oz?) - charged for medium. Upon enquiring, the barista told me 'this is the smallest we have right now' - I was NOT told this when I ordered AND charged for larger size. I then witnessed Patrick, from kitchen in back, call the front employee, in the middle of the transaction, leaving me standing and waiting to sign ticket, over to him and question her about what I was asking - any 'Director' worth the title, would have approached the customer directly and professionally and tried to make the situation right. This is a lovely area and generally comfortable, clean, safe property - each time we have made our comments known to management but have seen no changes or improvements. We stay here as it is usually only 1 or 2 nights . Decent stay but standards are most decidedly lower than expected for this property, which is sad, because this location should really be the sparkling jewel but the tarnish mars the shine.
