Parking, coffee maker was broken, TV didn't work - called but nobody came

My wife and I just finished a week's stay at the Hilton Tapatio. We had a fabulous time. Robbie and Braden provided expert and helpful front desk care. Since this was our first visit they explained how to get the most from our stay and advised on attending Cactus League games -- Go Guardians! The pools are idyllic and staff are readily available to bring food and drink. Golf carts take you everywhere on resort property. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping is prompt. The resort is close to hiking trails on North Mountain. This Hilton resort provides all you need for a wonderful getaway and offers exceptional value.

We vacationed here for Spring Break. It was about 30 minutes from the PHX Airport. It was also in the vicinity of stores and other attractions. The property was nice. There are over 5 pools. The room service was okay and the food was decent. The views from the mountain area were nice.

Well, this is an interesting one. It's a nice hotel. Located on a large property, so much so that you do need your car to get to your room. And the map can be somewhat confusing. The parking is very tight, if your renting a car and staying here, definitely get a small car as the the road can be very tight. And there's good coffee for purchase in the morning in the lobby. The room are nice, somewhat dated, but clean and neat and very accommodating and comfortable. There are some sections of the hotel that does have amazing views. It's also located near biking trails.

There were many different pools and I liked that there was a separate adults only pool which was nice.

The room did not have a microwave.

Our adventure began as a large group of travel baseball families who came and stayed 3-4 nights. -The 1st room we were assigned literally hadn't been cleaned. It had dirty towels hanging on the door, empty toilet paper rolls, trash in the cans and women's make up remover towelettes on the floor. -Our 2nd room had a clogged sink and the sheets were dirty. Each person who came to assist us started the conversation with "I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH." This might be ok for a position who doesn't deal with guests on a day-to-day basis, but it was EVERY PERSON who came to mitigate the ongoing issues. - Next was the room keys that didn't work. I went to the front desk and requested a new key; the lady told me she fixed the key.... It wasn't fixed. I called the front desk, and she wanted me to walk back to the front desk again. When I protested, she finally said she would send someone, I waited 45 minutes for someone to come to my room and confirm the key didn't work, really?? They literally had to take the mechanism off the door to finally repair it an hour later. - Next was our refrigerator that broke. We travel with children, so always bring a lot of food and snacks. The gentleman who was fixing the lock looked at the refrigerator to confirm it was in fact broken, said he would be right back. As of 24 hours later when we were checking out, he had never returned. All of our food was spoiled at that point. Bottom line is each family we spoke to had multiple issues with their rooms as well. We have traveled and stayed in a multitude of resorts and hotels all over the world. This was in the top 2 worst ever. At the price point and name recognition of this brand, I definitely expect more.

I would never stay here again. Low ceilings, very outdated interiors. It’s a motel not a hotel! The rooms including walls need to be gutted and completely renovated. The pool areas are nice enough but dark at night. They are very kid friendly. Could be good for lower middle class family with lots of children.
