Himalayan Ghar

Himalayan Ghar hotel is a small but cozy hotel. Despite being located in the very busy Thamel district, it is located in a quiet dead end street. As a result, you absolutely do not have the idea that you are staying in a busy city. The rooms are spacious and clean. In the bathroom, nothing is missing in terms of amenities. Wonderful hot shower. However, what stands out in this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. The ladies of housekeeping are always cheerful and have time for a friendly chat every morning. But the ladies Preakchya and Sreesty are absolutely top. Because I lost my suitcase at the airport and my trekking started, the ladies made sure that my suitcase was neatly in the hotel 5 days later. Even though they had to go to the airport 3 times for this. Nothing is too much for them. In short, an excellent location for your stay in Kathmandu.

The breakfast is a bit limited, but the location on the roof with a view over Kathmandu makes up for it.

Very nice property just at city centre; staff were very polite and friendly. Thanks to Preaksha and Shristy they were great at their job and handling the requests. Kudos to that. Highly recommended

Staff were amazing and very helpful. The apartment was spacious and very clean. Sushil from reception is very attentive and assisted us with our trip plans and sight seeing throughout the stay in Nepal.

Staff is very friendly, helped us for urgent laundry even on the road at 5am. The breakfast is good.

The hotel is very good it has really good bed and the hotel is very clean. All the staffs are very polite and helpful. Preakchya and sreesty in the reception are very attractive and they helped us a lot thanks to them I appreciate their work. I’ll come here next time and recommend this hotel to every one who’s coming to Nepal

Its in a central location, right next to many restaurants and nightlife but being in a back alley its very peaceful and quiet. No noise from cars and people, only the sound of birds in the morning. I loved the kindness of the staff, especially Sreesty and Preakchya who were always present, gave me many advices and helped out a lot.

I Loved the terrace with such a nice view and the staff was amazing. Compliments specially to Preakchya and Sreesty that at the reception were so sweet. Location is just perfect and the room was very big and kept well. Thank you a lot and will see you soon

Check-in started with an adventure. We were met by a hotel representative and taken to another hotel At the reception I asked what was going on, he said that they had changed the name. When we went up to the room it became obvious that we were being deceived. All this happened at 12 o'clock at night! With a small child in my arms (1 year old) The hotel that they tried to palm off on us was terrible. We had a fight and left. We urgently found another one. We started writing to booking and calling ... ghar The next day the ghar representative apologized and replied that there was a room for us. He wrote that there was overbooking. But if he had warned us that we had such a situation. There is no room for today. He would have apologized and explained everything, it would have been fine. But no. It was a deception. They just wanted us to live in another hotel. Which is 3 times cheaper than Ghar! I am sure this is a deliberate deception! It turns out that we overpaid for the first night in another hotel by $40. About the room: The rooms are very, very dirty. My feet without shoes are black! The photo shows my child's feet. They also use diclofos when washing and cleaning - it smells terrible. And I'm sure it's harmful to health. We constantly asked the staff to wash the floor. They said yes, yes, yes. But the floor was just as dirty. Food! Very poor breakfast, everything fried! It wasn't tasty for me. But the guy who cooks is great, he cooked porridge and eggs for us. Soundproofing - you can hear everything! As there were some maintenance problems in the hotel, we had to go to hotel Thamel (they belong together ). The transfer was well organized. The new hotel was very good. Great staff. The food there is amazing. They have the best Masala tea and cookies. :) also their inhouse tour agency is very good. thank you very much

It is a little bit loud during the night as it is close to the center.

I got pleasure welcome from front desk staff, all three sisters are very friendly and polite. Chef Mr. Thapa has magical hand, he is very skilled and server he is energetic, helpful. I am very impressed and highly recommended 🙏
