Rooms absolutely lovely

No food

The tavern is amazing. It's victorian decor is beautiful. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable. Even though there was a power cut, the staff were brilliant at making sure we still got our very tasty breakfast. It is a truly fantastic place to stay.

Lack of air conditioning. But windows open and a fan was provided. After the event I attended at aston park returning to the hotel, the bar was overly busy. If I had known I would have pre ordered a drink

Easy to find, friendly greeting. The maintenance man that met me on the car park couldn’t have been more helpful. Beautiful room, reliable Internet, nice breakfast.

There is long term construction work to the busy road bridge outside my bedroom window. That was ok during the day but once dark there were bright spotlights and an on/off throbbing noise all night (generator?) I appreciate that the owner is not responsible for the work but that room isn’t usable under those circumstances. I think there was only one other guest, so other rooms were available. I had a dreadful nights sleep, but by the time I knew that it was the middle of the night and too late to do anything about it. Booking.com listing isn’t detailed enough or inaccurate: no mini bar in my room, couldn’t access sky tv, also , there’s mention of a restaurant but no indication that they don’t serve food in the evening.

Historical, but would have liked a lift and on site dinner.

Friendly staff. Great period decor even though it was a complete renovation in the last 10 years. Keeps the authentic "peaky blinder" feel. Fantastic location for Villa Park. Would definitely stay again. Despite being directly below an overpass, noise was not an issue.

Notice going on locally apart from drinking in the pub itself. Any restaurants or things to do all require a short drive
