Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charlottesville North

Very nice property

Stay was suppose to paid with Marriott points. When we checked in the attendant said that it was all set. Final billing was on credit card. Attendant at checkout was not able to help.

The room was spacious and comfortable, except for two things: (1) the refrigerator.ade a horrible noise that I found not figure out for about 20 minutes, and (2) the room had an odor, most likely because of the cleaning products, but it was overwhelming at times. One small additional thing ... The AC worked for the most part, but the fan I wanted to have on all night (and kept having to change the setting to keep on) kept going off ... And the room warmed quickly. The staff was very nice, and were very accommodating.

In town for work the day before, I stopped by the hotel to ask for a change in room to two queens from one king. The lead on duty said that he couldn’t change until day of, but that he would leave a note for the team for the next day. Upon arrival, I was told there were no rooms available with two beds, no notes and no notes on my profile. I actually saw the lead from the day prior, referred to him by name from our interaction the day before. Travis did his best to accommodate me, but it still was one king with a pull out. I then went to my room, tried the key it didn’t work. Then went back to desk for a new key and it didn’t work again after walking back to room. After the third try, it finally worked. Not a pleasant experience to say the least.

Paid for a king bed stay with the pull out sofa bed and was downgraded to a two queen bed room. Asked to see if I would receive the difference between the two rooms back since it was cheaper and he didn’t have the answer

The front desk staff was very pleasant and patient with my requests. Hotel room was clean and in good condition. Area is safe and close to restaurants, stores etc. Breakfast was good, not over the top tasty but edible. The tables should be wiped off after each guest finishes eating but Noone was around wiping the tables. You just had to sit at a table that had left over crumbs from other guests. The utensils foe guests to eat with were facing up and should be facing down.

This Fairfield is conveniently located just off US29 within walking distance of a few good restaurants and a grocery store. Perfect for those who need a clean, comfortable place to rest and re-stock on things they may need for work on the road.

The computer system seems to have issues converting 3rd party bookings to in-house room assignments. I was stuck in the lobby w/ 3-4 other people for over an hour. The hot water wasn't working. House keeping needs to check the shower curtain... there was a booger stuck on it.

The beds are really soft. For most, that is wonderful. However, I suffer from lower back pain, so as wonderful as everything else was. I wished the bed was a little more firm. That doesn't change my overall satisfaction of your facility. I will choose your facility again.

Breakfast was not great, everything else was perfect.
