Fairfield Inn & Suites Tyler

I was truly excited about this Stay at this hotel with it being a Marriott location I was expecting great customer service and a very nice room and overall good experience. What I received instead was Nightmare. Upon check-in, the front desk clerk proceeded to write my Card number down because he said he could not complete my check-in and charge me on the terminal that he was working with. After Green to that and completing my check-in without actually being checked in, I received my keys and went to my room an hour later someone else came into my room As a single woman traveling alone, I found this experience to be very frightening after having a man in my room that I did not know I perceived to pack my items so that I could vacate the room. Upon speaking with the desk clerk, I was informed that there was new management that had taken over the property just the day before. He was reluctant to give me any contact information and did not want to cancel my room after the inconvenience that was caused to me I did not feel safe staying in a room, for fear of someone else entering my room without my permission when I left the hotel I do not feel as if the situation was resolved. I was informed that I would receive a confirmation email for the cancellation of my stay and I have as of yet to receive this email I asked for the names and contact information of the people who are now managing the hotel and he reluctantly gave me that information he wrote down the name in the email

The entry into parking lot was dangerous. Not well marked and there was a hole that needs repairing in the entryway/

Checked in around 7p, TV didn’t work. Front Desk was informed and maintenance never showed up. Woke up in the morning to grab toast but was told there was no bread, asked for a fork and told there were no forks, asked for creamer for my wife’s coffee and told there was no creamer. We stayed here due to not having power at our home after a bad storm. I may have stayed u see an associate rate but felt I was given a room with a TV that did not work because of this. I was told I couldn’t be moved and the tv could only be fixed in the morning. At 7 pm I’m not sure why waiting until morning made a difference. It was only one night and why even tell me you can have it fixed the next day if I’m checking out then anyway. Just an absolute horrible experience. Never again.

The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with taste, temperature, and assortment.

The swimming pool was closed for maintenance, the 6 lanes of traffic was noisy all night, but that had nothing to do with the hotel itself.

There was a young lady named Brooke who was working the front desk, and she was PHENOMENAL! She was helpful with our keys (as our door was malfunctioning), and she was there if we needed help with something. Besides her, the only other employee that we dealt with wasn't very helpful.

The pool was ice cold (as in too cold to be in longer than five minutes at most), and several doors in the building had malfunctioning locks (regular rooms, storage, and even the pool room suffered from this), so rags were regularly left in the doors to keep them from fully closing.

The parking lot is small. The room was clean but the paint was coming off in the bathtub.

The breakfast was top notch. Very friendly service. The entire place was very clean!

Maybe a couple comfortable chairs in the room vs one ottoman and a desk chair.
