The Ben Doran Guest House

The Guest House Manager is a gem.

Great location

Executive double was two uncomfortable single beds pushed together, outside of the main guest house which was very loud and echo-y

Lovely building and staff who we met in the morning, and free parking!

The room was cold, a big single glass window, I understand it must be listed building but it could do with more heat or blankets. Long walk into the centre. 30/40 mins

Beautiful setting, lovely facilities and staff at breakfast.

Parking, you have to leave your keys if you block someone in which we didn’t like so we ended up paying for another carpark.

The staff were lovely and the breakfast location was good a fair walk into town but that was our choice and on a good bus route with stand directly opposite. Like the lockers for keys so there was no issue with that time you came back.

Bed was very uncomfortable and small. Really early check out was 10 and no staff in the building throughout the day and night only at breakfast.

Good position, could walk to the town centre or plenty of buses. Room basic but had everything we needed.

Breakfast wasn't a full English or Scottish breakfast but so saying there was enough to choose from.

Lovely staff, clean and very convenient.

Nothing not to like

I like the location there is a few good pubs along the rd and The Abbey is excellent food great.Guest house great bed was comfortable and breakfast was good in the morning and I would definitely recommend even if it's just for one night or a few. And it doesn't take long to go into the centre of Edinburgh
