The Ben Doran Guest House

It was clean, spacious and free coffee and tea and the beds were good

It was very cold at night, as they turned the heating off and there's only 1 radiator in the room. We were on the second floor and there's no lift, so you have to climb stairs

Location was good. Bus stop outside with plenty of buses into princes street and all major attractions. Lady serving breakfast was lovely, could not do enough for us .

Room was very small and dated, window very drafty, made room cold. One radiator in room, no heating in bathroom..room at top of house. When we asked for extra heater, sent text to number given, got no reply.no one to speak to, had to talk to ring door bell. Breakfast was not full scottish breakfast, two sausage, two fried eggs and two uncooked baby tomatoes.

The morning staff were lovely and the room was warm. Great position to walk into the City.

Booked a presidential suite, very disappointed. Not at all like the photos. The toilet was very noisy after every flush, we had to hold the shower head with one hand as it didn't fit properly on the hold bar. The shower door didn't close. No nice little soaps etc which thought it would be a nice touch considering we booked the presidential suite. The wardrobe was dirty and had a sort of drainpipe in it! Decor certainly needs updating. Won't be going again.

Great location, clean, tidy and spacious room. Off road parking was very good. Breakfast options fantastic and cooked to order

Comfortable guesthouse in a good location to get into town. Breakfast was tasty and check-in was very easy. The staff were friendly too.

The price was very high but being new year's eve it was to be expected! The room smelt a little musty and the bathroom was a noisy when water was being run, but overall we had a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Ben Doran Guesthouse during the Hogmanay week. Before our arrival we asked for a room without carpet because of my sensitivity and we had a lovely big room, just outside the main entrance, who was clean, calm and with everything necessary. The breakfast is included and it's in a lovely room with a characteristic decoration. The guest house is perfectly located in a residential area, in front of a bus stop at 20/30 minutes walk to the center with somes pubs and stores nearby.

When there is a lot of wind outside there are a little too many drafts in the room. A towel rack in the bathroom beside the sink would have been convenient :)

we really loved the kind staff which made us breakfast every morning and cared for us. They were all really nice. The room was really charming and comfy. There’s a bus stop right across the street, so perfect for traveling to town. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back :)
