Quality Inn Jacksonville near Camp Lejeune

The location

The rooms do not look like the photos online. The furniture and fixtures had rust all on them. Most upsetting was the room had roaches.

The breakfast was standard, it was same menu the potato were hard like they were re cooked from the day before. But overall it was ok

Our room Was full of moisture. Everything in the room was rusted We shared the information with the front desk. The only reason we didn't leave was because we were very close to the person we were visiting. We discovered a leak the morning we left. Maintenance man did bring something in to reduce the moisture but it didn't work. The floors were damp you could feel the moisture in the air and see the moisture on the floors

The Location.

I booked a two night stay in two connecting rooms for my family so we could attend a funeral nearby. Our stay was unacceptable. On top of the furniture in both rooms being rusted and in poor condition, both rooms had cockroach infestations. On the first night, my wife found a dead roach on the windowsill in our room. In the other room, my children spotted a large dead roach under the desk and many roach casings next to the fridge. Later in the night, they saw MANY live roaches crawling around the room. It was too late to go to the front desk, so the next day we notified a manager. The manager, Crystal, could not have cared less. She did not offer to come see the room, nor did she offer any apology nor to refund or discount our stay. Instead she nonchalantly asked if we would like a new room… as if staying in a roach infested room was an option. Then, later that night, in the NEW room, my kids saw more roaches! I have family members who stayed in other rooms in the hotel and there were live roaches in their room as well. My son even saw a roach crawling on the elevator frame in the lobby. This hotel has a roach infestation and had we known before booking, we would not have stayed here to attend a funeral. Given the severity of these conditions and the lack of appropriate response from hotel management, I believe we should not have been charged for this stay. I am formally requesting a full refund for both rooms for both nights, as the accommodations were unsafe, unsanitary, and far below acceptable standards. Please advise on how this matter will be resolved and when I can expect confirmation of the refund.

The room was nice, very clean. The staff was exceptional. Everyone i met was very helpful and very polite. They work hard at helping the customers and keeping the hotel clean and welcoming. The daytime staff, especially Amy was very helpful if/problems arose. The cost for the evening was very good. It was $37 less than the competitor across the street and everything was just as nice if not nicer. My thanks to the staff at the Quality Inn for making my stay as nice as possible. The Quality Inn will be my first choice in the future.

Although the Quality Inn is listed on Expedia.com and Booking.com as having Smoking rooms, they do not. Also if you want to contact the front desk prior to making a reservation, it is very difficult to find a local number. It seems all available numbers are routed to a reservation desk. Very annoying.
