Hostel Inn Hashimoto

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Like living in cozy room at a friend's home. Car can be parked at adjacent packing lot for free. Room is reasonably sized with private bathroom. You can use microwave etc at the common area. A Family Mart right across the road. A good location for trip to Koyasan.

Understandbly as an aged hostel building in a small town near railway, there is no elevator (yet the hosts are friendly enough to help bringing luggages upstairs), water temperature is a bit unstable, and a little noisy (don't worry, no overnight trains). After all, it was a comfortable stay.

The location was a 2 minute walk from the train station, there was a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, there is a Family Mart across the street, the room itself was clean, a nice size and there was access to a microwave, hot water and free tea and coffee

we needed a place to stay while visiting Koyasan, and we didn't want the austere accommodations at the town. Hashimoto is a compromise location, the only town within reasonable distance to Koyasan. Hashimoto is a sleepy little town, with little offerings for even dining. But, it is the only game available if you want to reach Koyasan within an hour. The hosts really tried hard to run things well, and the facility met our need. It was clean and well kept. No dining facilities unless you order meals at time of booking. Local restaurants are, shall we say, basic. People are nice, though.

we were hoping for a higher level of accommodation, but we were simply not familiar with the overall situation at Hashimoto and Koyasan. Regardless, our visit was a great one and the local guide we had was fantastic.

very friendly staff, they allowed me to check in early and leave my bag there after check out. the room was nice and clean. conveniently located 2 min walk from the train station.

because it’s at the ground floor in the morning I could hear people talking outside of my room but it could have been a one time thing.

Owners are lovely - so helpful (allowed us to come early to leave our bags). Our room (a twin) was simple but recently redecorated and comfortable - there is a little kitchenette on the landing with a microwave and free tea and coffee. Breakfast is traditional Japanese - very good indeed (changes each day). Great location for visiting Koyasan and Yoshiko.

Photos on Booking don't do it justice. Building is not very beautiful but the rooms are comfortable and bright.

The Hostel is very close to the train station, a convenience store is right across the street, a small shopping center (super market, café , restaurant, book store, 100 Yen shop) is only 10 minutes by walk. The owners are really friendly and the breakfast was very delicious! The room was clean and there was room cleaning service every day. Electric water kettle in the room and microwave, tee and instant coffee in the hallway. The room was small, but there was enough space to open the suitcase (and my suitcase is really big).

Even though the room is a non-smoking room, the smell of cigarettes came into the room.

Location - less than five minutes from Hashimoto Station; and a convenience store a couple of minutes away from the hotel.

Nothing to dislike
