OYO Silver Spur Burns Hwy 20

Room smoke alarm disconnected and half of it on counter, room was filthy, used hand soap only soap in room, front door did not close or lock properly. Had to call the motel 4 times checking in after 9pm and the voicemail was full so we stood out in the cold and wind. This was the worst motel room I have ever stayed in. I could go on for pages but can’t stress how dirty and disgusting the room was

Do not let the exterior detour you from staying. Our room was all updated with a comfy bed.

I was very disappointed in my stay. There was an odor in the bathroom that was either formaldehyde, lacquer or some other chemical that made me nauseous and gave me a headache. The room was not warm and the heater did not work. There were no extra blankets within the room. I checked the closet and none available. The TV was not hooked up and also there was no remote for the TV within the room. The toilet ran constantly all night. The shower was full of mold so I did not even use the shower. The walls were so thin you could hear people snoring on both sides. The room did not contain a telephone, therefore I was unable to get a hold of the front desk. The office closed before 9:00 p.m. after I checked in. Very disappointed how a property could charge you to stay there.

I understand that it was a "no frills" place to stay. But I do think a place needs to have essentials. There was no smoke detector. The wires were hanging on the wall where one had been. There was also no coffee service in the morning, neither in the room nor in the office which was closed and locked all morning.

This rating does not reflect the effort put in by the motel… Burns is a very isolated place and we enjoyed our stay there…. The motel is obviously undergoing improvements and the rooms were certainly adequate for our needs… good shower, much better and safer windows than we have had in other places…. Everything was clean which could be … carpets are probably waiting an update….. no coffee facilities in our room and no breakfast available in the motel, but if we had wanted coffee we could have had some made. There was a fridge and a microwave too. Of the places to eat in town we picked the Pine Room and Bar and it was fab, easy to get to from the motel and they do breakfast too. All in all, no complaints and loved the artwork on the walls above the beds…. Complemented the birdsong from the birds enjoying the pear tree out the back.

Friendly, prompt staff. Clean room. A bit noisy with traffic on road. Toilet didn't want to turn off; kept running. Would stay again.

The woman who checked me in was absolutely wonderful. The property is clean and well used. The price was right. I would stay there again. My only real complaint would be the noise. If you are noise sensitive, request an upstairs room as, if you are on the ground level, you will be listening to your upstairs neighbors all night.
