Hotel Carolina A Days Inn by Wyndham

Everything in this hotel was fine overall. The housekeeping staff was very helpful, the room was clean, and the AC worked well. The only unpleasant moment I had was with a front desk employee, a blonde woman, probably in her 60s. While we were waiting for an early check-in, my friend started eating a small dessert we had brought back from a restaurant. We probably should have asked first, but after a long trip we weren’t thinking much about it. The receptionist told us, “I’d rather you eat somewhere else, there’s the pool outside and (another area) you can use,” while waving her hands in the air in a dismissive manner. I understand the reception desk is not a designated eating area, but her rudeness was unnecessary. I was the one designated to wait for check-in since the rest of my group had to leave for work. When the early check-in was processed, I paid $4 for two drinks, which she gladly accepted. The next day, my husband bought three bottles of water and was charged $3 total. When I mentioned to the receptionist that I had paid $4 the previous day, she kindly let me grab an extra bottle of water to make up for it. This second lady was thoughtful and accommodating, which left us with a better impression and a happy ending to our stay.
