great location beautiful surroundings nice pool, stayed at Pete's house - very nice deck with grill

lots of bugs. unfortunately there was a heatwave but that was just bad luck. Pete's house had a kitchen but no sink, we had to use the sink in the bathroom for drinking water and washing up dishes etc. there was a fridge and toaster and microwave and coffee maker and table to eat at so it was strange to not have a sink.

It was a perfect get away. Property and views were beautiful!

I understand they are eco friendly, but we did find a lot of ticks and our room had quite a few bugs and spiders, Seems like you could find a way to spray to keep these down.

The pool, the setting, the general activities like the marshmallow grilling, the staff in the restaurant, the location of the Wild Wind cabin right next to the river.

The non caring attitude of the reception personnel. Seemed like we were annoying them when asking simple questions.The cleanliness and functionality of the cabin: Disgusting and broken toilet brush, worn out old dirty sponge, kettle not working reliably, no toilet lid, chopping boards that do not give hygienic confidence. Some paint and dusting would be a good idea, the cabin is in need of a renovation.

Beautiful location with so much to do for every interest. Just sitting on the porch outside our room, rocking away in the rocking chair watching the sun set on the mountains was amazing. A sky full of stars at night with no noise or light pollution. Comfy, clean rooms and beds. The decor is warm and homey with great personal touches. We will definitely be back.

No cell phone reception.

We loved our time at Graves mountain lodge and I will definitely be back! From check in, there was a band playing on the porch which we loved. The restaurant was accommodating for our dietary needs at breakfast. And the view from our room was unreal!! The room itself was rustic, which was accurately advertised, and met all of our needs. Closet proximity to Shenandoah national park (depending on the trail) and a lot of cute towns nearby as well.

This isn't against Graves at all- they have wifi that works very well. But more as a heads up for future travelers... The area around the lodge and at the park is a huge dead zone, zero reception whatsoever. So plan accordingly with maps and directions before you get even close to the area (about an hour outside of it.)

The room was clean, hotel and restaurant staff polite and helpful. We enjoyed the pool, restaurant and quiet time at the rocking chairs.
