Very good but charged for brkfast

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent stay at the Marriott Hotel in Livonia, Michigan was so unacceptable that I feel compelled to share. From the moment I entered the room, it was clear something was wrong. There was water pooling on the floor, and the rug was completely saturated—not damp, but soaked. It was both unsanitary and unsafe. The hallways and common areas smelled musty and foul, like mold or dirty carpets that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. To make matters worse, the phone in my room didn’t work, so I had no way to call down to the desk without physically walking there—again, completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber. Overall, the service was subpar, the condition of the room was embarrassing, and the experience felt more like a rundown motel than a Marriott property. I expected far better.

Location

Only one elevator in use the entire weekend, so long wait times throughout the morning and evening

The parking lot gravel is torn up. An Elevator was down all weekend while they had 3 Huge Reunions and people totally not accommodated. This was the worse thick air humid place I have every stayed. They were not prepared for their booked guest. This place needs work and management.

Breakfast was good with fresh fruits & juices & adequate spread.

Only one lift was working due to renovation.

It was great.
