Jamia Central Hotel

Staff are soooo helpful. I got help to buy my train ticket, which cannot be purchased with credit card, and got an Uber taxi to get there.

Breakfast was a bit odd, chicken, veg and potatoes

Breakfast not included, but a full grocery store is practically next door to buy bananas and yogurt!! And the staff is very helpful in calling an Uber taxi to go far and I even got to steal one of the security guys to go to the “slum” to see art galleries!!

It was clean, secure and in a novel location (top floors in a shopping centre!) The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Central Nairobi will mean you get approached a lot.

The fact that the restaurant was 24hrs it made my life easy in the night for a late meal

The hotel doesn't have an elevator so if you have luggages it's going to be difficult to carry your luggages to the second floor

Jamia Central Hotel is located in the very centre of Nairobi, in the CBD area, inside a shopping mall on the third floor. There are markets, supermarkets, pharmacies and many useful places nearby, which is very convenient. The price–quality ratio is absolutely fair. The hotel is affordable, the service is decent, and inside the hotel it feels quiet and safe. The staff are very friendly, polite and always ready to help or give advice. We stayed only one night, as we were dropped off and picked up by a safari agency, so we didn’t spend much time in the area and can’t fully comment on safety at night. During the day, walking around felt fine, and local police officers were friendly and checked in with us. It’s important to note that alcohol and cigarettes are not sold in the hotel or nearby. Smoking is allowed only in the hotel lobby. It is not permitted on balconies or outside the hotel. Breakfast was not included in our stay. It cost around 770 KSh and was served buffet-style, but each item or ingredient was priced separately, so the final price could vary. Coffee cost about 150 KSh. Overall, our stay was pleasant and matched our expectations for this price range.

One small downside was mosquitoes at night , we did get a few bites.
