San Francisco Marriott Marquis Union Square

We had a nice stay. The valet parking is so nice and made me feel good my vehicle was safe. The city view was beautiful and the rooftop bar was amazing. I just wish they had a microwave in the rooms.

Was charged two time of parking and they gave the car to someone with out the ticket

I recently stayed at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis while attending the Laver Cup, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and its central location in SoMa made it incredibly convenient for getting around the city—close to public transit, attractions, and the Chase Center. The standout highlight was the exceptional service from the bellmen, Alejandro and CJ. They went above and beyond by creating a helpful video guide showing the route to the nearby train station, which made navigating San Francisco's transit system a breeze for first-timers like me. Their friendliness and proactive approach really elevated the trip and made me feel welcomed. That said, the $30 daily destination fee left a sour taste. It includes perks like a $20 food credit, but as a Platinum for Life member, I typically rely on the lounge for complimentary options. Instead, I felt pushed toward the overpriced pantry items just to use the credit, which made the whole thing feel like nickel-and-diming. Why not just incorporate these costs into the room rate upfront? It comes across as a sneaky add-on rather than a genuine benefit, and the staff's explanation felt like gaslighting. I'd love to see Marriott rethink this policy to avoid making loyal guests feel scammed. Despite that one downside, I'd still recommend this hotel for its prime location and top-notch staff—just be prepared for the extra fees.

I stayed for 3 nights during a conference. Took m was up to Marriott standard but very dark - as it was facing inner “courtyard”. All staff, except the phone operator “At your service” was very helpful and friendly. Issue with the operator got resolved after me contacting Marriott. Very friendly and helpful staff at the M Club, good in the lounge up to expectations for the region. A bit pricey, but very good location.

We got cat fished on this hotel, the king size bed that costed $250 (standard room) showed that the bathroom had a glass sliding door so that was the whole basis on why we chose this over other hotels (parking is $91 extra so just the basic would cost $341) When we checked in our room we saw that is was on the 4th floor of a 39 floor building that was placed very far from the elevator, which made it feel like a ridiculous cruise like atmosphere to get to the room and we discovered that the room had shower curtains in the bathroom. When we went to the front lobby to try to change our room to one with a sliding glass door for the shower we were told that the standard king beds don’t come with this feature and that Expedia had misled us, and that to get what we expected we would need to pay an additional $150, so this made the new total $491. This hotel definitely does not warrant this price point in SF, we don’t recommend staying here if you’ll be spending $500 a night, Additionally I want to note that our “upgraded” rooms AC was not working and that there was a pile of dirt and bugs in the room and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Don’t stay at this hotel.

Go to the Intercontinental…. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice hotel with the worst service in town… specially the front desk is a disaster… rude employees and understaffed. Not coming back ever

I am beyond disappointed with this property. While it’s not a bad hotel, and is well located, be aware of hidden fees which are not justifiable in the slightest, and ultimately leave a bad taste well after your visit. Be aware that this property demands a “destination fee” of $30/night plus tax ($35 or so). In exchange, you get a $20 food credit at their grossly overpriced restaurants. None of these fees make any sense, and they are unable to explain exactly what the fees cover. At the end of the day, my “free” weekend stay using point and spending rewards cost me over $100. (Plus all the points and vouchers). Although destination fees (aka junk fees) are getting to be more and more common, I found the value completely lacking at this property, noting that we are Titanium level members, and get a lot of the so-called benefits either way. To me, it’s just a cash grab and unseemly!

Love how expensive it felt and the location. It was close to entertainment and grocery stores.

My room had bed bugs which ruined my whole weekend. I spent a lot for them not to catch the feces on the walls indicating bed bugs. They are currently investigating it and I am hoping they are kind to give some kind of benefit.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, the front office team member Mr. Malte was outstanding because during the check in his smile and warm hospitality made me a deep impression.
