Lovely stay. Excellent and responsive staff.

Tina, Joseph and Mario at the front desk are so kind and personable! We will not forget Tina with her nice smile, who is very accommodating! Thank you Joseph for your kindness and for the coffee! Joanna, thank you for your kindness too. Ricky and the ladies hostessing, downstairs in the restaurant are so accommodating and kind! Adam-(makes the best coffee:) and always serves it up with a smile! Geovani, Michelle, Veon, Jennifer and (Stephan who is in events), also greet us with their nice smiles and kind words each time we see them. They are so friendly! Thank you for the tea recipes Veon and Michelle! I've already made fresh lemon grass tea, Yum! There is always the very hard working Gerrsson, Juan and Mex who all three always greet with a smile and they too let me practice my Spanish with them. Now there is Guadalupe, I saw him deep cleaning the tables! No wonder the place always is so clean and comfortable! Now, for the fabulous Chef Rogelio, and his sioux chefs Jeff and Cory- they make great eggs! Rogelio makes the Best omelettes ever!! He also helps me with my Spanish, lol! Rogelio is always kind! Thank you!!

Beautiful property. My preferred place to stay in Scottsdale

Enjoyed our stay here, the grounds and property themselves are beautiful. Conveniently located and they also offer a shuttle across the way to the Scottsdale Quarters which is very nice. The bathrooms are a bit outdated but the rooms are nice. We were also located on the 10th floor and every single morning plumbing noise / noises in the wall could be heard very loudly and clearly from our room close to the elevator. When we checked in the rep at the front desk did not explain anything to me about security deposits or the property. I didn’t love how they charged my card every single day with a resort fee for a pre authorization and then charged me the full amount at the end of the stay while still holding the authorization on my card. I wish this had been explained to me when checking in.

We liked the property. The staff were nice. The pool facilities were very good. The gym was nice. The pillows were too thick for our taste. The resort fee is a bit high. There were a lot of activities for kids during our visit in the Xmas week. Overall, we enjoyed our stayed.

The property's grounds are beautiful, the Keirland mall is next door within walking distance and has nice shopping and restaurants. The hotel itself needs a renovation in the rooms, lobby, and the restaurants are below grade for this type of hotel. I think there is only one main dining room that is blah. The coffee bar is nice but needs a facelift. The lounge needs a complete renovation and some music.

The Westin is a hotel, not a resort. Granted they are on a golf course and have a really big family pool with a slide (not anything close tot he Biltmore’s pools and slide) but a resort in my mind is a place where the staff is thinking ahead of you to try to meet your needs, maybe if your lucky you are even greeted by a staff member as you come and go. There is nothing wrong with the Westin as a hotel, but the rates are resort worthy and it just isn’t anything special. I know other reviewers have spoken about parking (the rates on the app are inaccurate it’s now $25 a day to self park) and the missed days of housekeeping (I found this to be true and housekeeping really gives it a quick service, they miss a lot when they come) these are hotel issues, not what you would expect at a resort. The food is limited, not good, and super slow to be served. To be fair, if you want to be close to a lot of shopping and some bars, this is the place to be, I don’t stay at resorts for their nearby shopping, but you do you. The two main things you need to know are, the hotel is severely understaffed and it shows in everything they do, including food and service, and the upselling is constant and a rip-off. I paid to upgrade to a room with a fire pit and a mountain view, the fire pits need propane, which took a call to maintenance, you can’t light them yourself, and they have one chair (seriously who wants to sit by a fire pit alone?) The room had a view of other rooms and some cactus, no mountains to be seen anywhere. The uptake, if you have a convention or get a good rate, and you understand it’s a hotel with a golf course you will get what you expect. No matter what do not accept any offers for any paid upgrades, they are just a reason to charge $200 a night more for the same room. If you are looking for an actual resort there are many in Scottsdale, check the reviews and find a place that will actually earn the rate they charge.
