This hotel is excellent. They have a very simple and transparent web-site for booking. The reception welcome was professional and friendly, the bedroom much bigger than expected with a super bathroom. The hotel is on the seafront, just across the road to a wonderful sandy beach. Delicious breakfast overlooking their garden and a quick friendly check out. We’ve already booked our next stay in a month’s time.

Stayed here for a night before starting a business trip. The location is fantastic on the beachfront promenade. Service and comfort is exactly what you'd expect from a R&C property. Don't like the fact that there is a casino so much

great hotel - only issue was with toilets they have a foul smell i think its to do with the piping. other then that a fantastic restaurant

We arrived at the hotel after an exhausting two and a half trip around France and therefore this hotel was just what we were looking for. The hotel has beautiful grounds and although it is right opposite the beach, within an easy walk into the centre, it was very peaceful. The beds were huge and extremely comfortable. As the hotel is of an older build, as previous reviews have noted there is no air conditioning. Although there was a charge levied for parking in the hotel's car park, common with many French hotels, it was large and secure. Very friendly and welcoming staff; we will back next year!

Very beautiful old building, rooms are vintage, the garden is great. Restaurant was excellent, food and wine really great. The staff was very nice. We loved taking the bikes from the hotel to go to Guerande and Salines.

A very special place, a true castle with a fantastic garden open to the street but also right near the incredible, huge beach !! Only point I advice is to be careful with restaurant, our Michelin dinner experience there was under expectations but overpriced. But the castle’s main point are people, the ladies from lobby/ concierge were the soul of our vacation. Spent 6 nights, we had a lovely room, a little small for three but they tried to find something bigger for us, did not worth the effort to move. Service was great, any moment were 2-3 people (ladies mostly) that you just loved to talk as they are knowledgeable and pleasant. Helped us with very good recommendations for dinner and places to visit, see other reviews we did for La Baule for restaurants. Understanding the needs of our boy, in a place with very few (none) kids. A special mention for breakfast, each time super fresh fruits, oysters and extremely classy and elegant. Laurent was each day so careful, listening for our needs and coming next day with what we requested, especially fruits, gluten free food. Thank you, we were so lucky to discover Marie Louise. As advice, reserve from time, it is a small and cozy castle, not many rooms.

Wonderful very attentive staff. Elegant, upscale accommodations. Very classy hotel but overcharge for parking, we think, and they need a better way of communicating to guess how to pull up to the hotel since there is no car entry and you must unload from the street. The people they hire are absolutely top rate and make for a very comfortable stay.

Stayed 2 nights in September 2017. Location good, food good, but it's a bit tired in some areas. Had to pay euros 15 per day to park the car in the empty hotel car park. It was very quiet and a bit soul less. We moved rooms because the first room, which was advertised as a suite, had knee high small windows. The second room was better but external lights right outside our bedroom came on during the night and light up our room and we were unable to switch them off. Beds were dipping in he middle. We wouldn't go back. An expensive stay and they get every euro out of you. Better to stay at the sister chateau at the other end of La Baule which has had a refurb. It looks really nice. We would stay there next time.
