"ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!"

Staff were WONDERFUL, no complaints. Very friendly, very helpful. Kendra is what we call in Hawaii, someone with the Aloha spirit. Very personable with the Ohana spirit.

We wanted to utilize pool but gotten dirty after the dust storm and not gotten as clean as we wanted it to be

"Light sensitive guests should avoid the standard king room!"

Generally, I have been very happy with Hampton Inn, and if you are staying in a room other than a standard king, then the hotel is very comfortable and nice. However, if you are sensitive to light at night, be aware that the standard king room has a smoke detector positioned directly above the head of one side of the bed. The detector has a small light that shines directly down onto your head, and, at least in the room we were in, the light changed intensity periodically. I am very sensitive to light, so it kept me awake. Luckily, I had an eye mask with me so that helped, but I prefer not to sleep with one. I complained to the desk in the morning, and they said all the standard king rooms are set up that way. They did not offer a refund, but did upgrade my room on a future reservation to a king suite which did not have the same issue. I would not submit a review except that I want to make people who are light sensitive aware so they can reserve a different room type or a different hotel!

Reasonable prices and perfect for a one-night stay. The breakfast was surprisingly good with a nice variety — scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages, toast, fruits, and plenty of drink options. A solid choice for a short stay.
