Monterey Fairgrounds Inn

Property is very tired and in need of investment. Staff were good and room and linen was clean, but TV didn’t work, windows were loose and fridge leaked. None of these issues affected us hugely as it was just a stop off. But for £300 a night, it was poor.

This motel needs a lot of work! Has potential. Close to Cannery Row. Our room only had one light. Plumbing was leaking. Management was nice to put us in the handicap room, which was nice enough.

Very outdated room with no lamps by bedside, no chair, no clothes hangers in closet area and no hanging rod. Layout of room doesn’t make sense. Wifi doesn’t work well indoors (very intermittent and have to use outside or right at the window only). Parking lot is very small and some areas difficult to maneuver back out. The only good thing was that there is a pool. I would not recommend and will not return.

Good stay for a budget just make sure you bring shampoo and body soap .they provide the bare minimum.

It wasn’t clean. Pool was dirty and a weird clientele stayed at the accommodation. We didn’t feel safe staying here

It was a decent hotel for the price we got it for, it just was a little dirty, our sheet had some nasty substance on them
