Hyatt Place Roanoke Airport / Valley View Mall

The property was clean & tidy. I arrived in the evening and the housekeeping staff were visibly working. I liked the size of the room and the bed was comfortable. The location of the property was just off the highway and within walking distance from multiple restaurants.

I would have preferred that they had a restaurant & bar on the premises. My negatives were the HVAC, too noisy and did not work well (room remained chilly although I had the temp on high hot), the lighting in the bathroom, dim to dark with the switch on until you closed the door and you were afforded medium lighting and finally, the housekeeping staff were extremely loud. I was able to hear their conversations and when they entered & exited the rooms. A little annoying the last couple of hours before getting ready for check out.

All the employees were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. The bathrooms are small, but the shower is large and includes body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Overall, this is a nice hotel and I would stay there again.

The pool is closed permanently. The elevator is slow and you feel like you might not get out. The breakfast was cold and lacking variety. It’s just old and run down and sits behind the Chinese restaurant.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel because it was close to the Salem Civic Center where we went to a concert. It was nice to be able to check in early and go shopping and not rush to leave on Sunday. The breakfast was nice and ran until 10am and included hot entrees. The beds were very comfortable the room was large and could accommodate extra people although the bathroom was small. The front staff was very friendly and quick to offer bottles of water as Hyatt Rewards Members. We would recommend this hotel especially with the great restaurants nearby as well as Valley View Mall and Regal Valley View Grande theater, not to mention the airport with transport but it was so quiet you wouldn't know it.

The room was not the same type as we booked, and they were unable to accommodate us in a comparable room. No concession offered. The bathroom was tiny and required you to step into the shower to close the door. No dresser or drawers in the nightstand. I don't recommend this hotel!

Updated rooms and very clean. The front desk staff were friendly. They had a shuttle van we used, so we didn't have to drive to nearby restaurants.
