We went to the Clemson baseball game. Easy check in and close to the field. Friendly staff

While the price was right, I was fooled into thinking I would still have a quality stay at this Hilton property. My stay at this hotel was disappointing and unsettling. While close in proximity to what I was doing, I will not stay at this Hampton Inn again. The first room I was given was a handicap accessible room (that I did not request). When I walked into the room, it was obviously old and dingy. There was mold in the toilet bowl and mold in the shower. There was also debris on the floor that was apparently left behind by the previous occupants. The a/c was right next to the desk, blowing right into my ear, and I wasn’t able to access the internet to work. Not to mention the fingerprints left behind on the flip out door security bars. I asked to be moved to another room, which Joy did, but I was again provided with another handicap accessible room. I was told that’s all the hotel had available. I was confused by that since I did not choose a handicap accessible room when I reserved my room and I checked in online the day before my stay (this was not a game weekend). The second room I was moved to wasn’t much better. As I mentioned above, it was another handicap accessible room. While the bathroom looked better, there was mold underneath the shower soap dish, and there was with lotion or conditioner stuck to the shower wall. (Which I ended up cleaning) The lone window had a Roman shade. When I dropped the shade, there was mold on the fabric. There was a lightbulb out in the room, the clock radio didn’t work, the remote for the tv was missing a backing for the batteries, the thermostat needed the battery replaced which meant the a/c unit needed to be adjusted manually, and while I could connect to the internet, I couldn’t safely plug in my laptop - there was just a small extension cord available for the tv, and the lower security bar on the door was broken off. Like in the previous room, the refrigerator cart was in rough shape and in need of replacing, and there were incomplete patch jobs done on the walls to cover holes. Since I was in a time crunch to get to my meeting, I didn’t have time to leave and find another hotel. Given my experience with the rooms, I decided not to take my chances with breakfast. This location is not in keeping with the Hilton brand. The owner of this Hampton Inn needs to expend some money to do the necessary upgrades to clean it Up. The mold in the rooms is a health hazard. By allowing the condition of the rooms to remain, the owner of this location preys on consumers in an effort to make a quick buck. Housekeeping also needs to do their job and not just the bare minimum in order to pull a paycheck. When checking out the following day, I was asked about my stay, I told the staff who then brought the manager into the conversation. She quickly refunded my stay and apologized. I wish I had taken down her name because she was the only positive part of my stay. If it wasn’t for her, I would have rated this location as “Terrible”. The day manager pulled it up to “Poor”.

The room appeared to have 2 queen beds at one time, but now is a king bed. So you have an entire half of the room that is empty but you could see where the headboard was glued to the wall. The television can’t stream apps and you can’t cast your phone so it was limited tv.

Never a bad Hampton! The bed could have been a little softer as I found it too hard but otherwise excellent stay.
